it's all happening
Jul. 21st, 2007 12:16 pmI picked up Deathly Hallows today at around 10:30-ish? I dunno, I have short-term memory loss. I bought it at Target and it was cheap, $17.99 USD, which I think was a decent deal, especially since I didn't pre-order or anything. There were no lines or pushing and shoving. Just stacks and stacks of uncracked Harry Potter, the last and final installment.
*nostalgic sigh*
The clerk said, "thought you'd take your chances, huh?"
And I laughed, "yes."
I am not really involved in the fandom, but I have been waiting for this just like everybody else. It's weird, finally holding it in my hands. It made me giddy. (Just ask Dayl.) Or maybe that was my gummy worm-bears? Or my adorable laughing cow cheese! (Seriously? those little wrapped wedges? Stinkin' cute!)
At any rate I have had the book in my possession for about two hours and I have only read one page because I was on the phone with Miss Dayln avoiding the thing. I'm not really afraid I won't like it or that I'll be disappointed. Not in the least. I'm just afraid that if I start reading I won't be able to stop. I know I'll be sucked in. I was house-sitting the night of the last release, accompanied my friend Carrie's daughters to the Borders release shindig, and I didn't stop reading for two days, curled up in her bigass bed with her bigass dogs.
Oh, Harry.
