Also re: PLL, I basically stopped watching because of Ezra/Aria-related cognitive dissonance. Like, for a long time I *totally shipped them*. I mean they weren't always perfect, and I was like "ok, this is fiction. If this was real life I'd be like 'noEzrayou'refiredreallyleavetownorI'mcallingthecops.' BUT IT'S NOT. So I can pretend this is fanfiction or something and enjoy it as a guilty pleasure. Because it totally hits my kinks just right." ............Until Aria's parents find out and have the reaction that *any parent ought to have* if this were in the real world...and suddenly I can't just put that cognitive dissonance aside for the sake of fantasy anymore.
