I don't want her to be a different person entirely, but obviously something is going to have to change for her so that she doesn't just immediately go out and get someone to turn her back right away.

I wondered if there might be a twist next season where it turns out that the cure doesn't just turn a vampire back to human, but make them immune to vampirism in general. Because otherwise, I don't see why Katherine wouldn't just call Elijah and have him turn her back.

I am not really looking forward to Silas stealing Stefan's identity though. It gets super squicky for me when people don't know who they're really dealing with.

I hate those kinds of storylines, too. What's funny in this case is that I would think Elena, Damon, and Caroline would all be in prime positions to recognize a Stefan imposter. Like, I think Silas!Stefan would be unveiled as a fraud more quickly than most of the other characters if they were in that position. Although Damon did talk to Silas as Stefan a few episodes back and not realize his mistake until Silas cued him in and the writers will probably use the triangle as the reason for D/E writing off any weird vibes they'll get from "Stefan". So, my money's on Caroline to be the one who first realizes it's not him.

We know Bex is going to be on The Originals so their coupling will surely be short-lived.

Oh, huh, from the way it was being written, I was assuming Matt would be heading to New Orleans, too. Is the actor sticking with Vampire Diaries then instead of joining the spin-off?

Bonnie being dead feels a little false to me. Left unfinished. (Much like Jeremy's death did earlier this season.) I'll only believe it's "for real" when we're several episodes into season 5. And maybe not even then.

I don't think she's dead dead either. I bet we'll have a couple episodes of her talking to Jer as a ghost before something supernatural happens, allowing her to return to the living.
