color me bad

I don't normally do this, but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find tutorials dealing with Supernatural screencaps. I've been making icons for a while now and I think I'm fairly good with coloring and improving images, but the muted colors and dark caps from SPN are driving me totally batty. I feel like, no matter what I do, everything is tan - for the most part. That's an exaggeration, but you get the picture.

If anyone knows of any tutorials that were made either using an SPN screencap or specifically about how to deal with SPN screencaps, that would be great. Let me know!

ETA: I have noticed a big majority of SPN icons are B&W. I'll definitely do the same, but I'd like to find some color in there too.
