ex-ter-minate!

→ Guys, I think I just found the holy grail. (Or, you know? A smallish-sized chip of holy grail.) Word Count Plus firefox add-on? I love it! I also just typed ass-on which is like a whole different thing not related at all.

→ You Who-vians with your wacky regeneration stuff. I watched season one a while back. (Thank you [livejournal.com profile] mistojen.) And I saw probably at least half of the season with Donna. Who was awesome, by the way. But the reason I can't watch this show? The fact that nobody sticks around. I can't handle all the heartbreak, kids!

That guy? ↑??
Too young. Too pale. Too Dr. Frankenstein's Monster, if you ask me.
That may seem superficial but, I'm sure you're all thinking it too.
(What is with the hair?!)
Do not feel sorry for him.
He's the new Who, after all.
(Oh no! Now it's real!)

I guess, more than anything, I kind of feel sorry for you guys. Rose, Martha, Donna, now Ten too? There is no way I could be an avid fan of a show like that, where the only permanent fixture is literally the Tardis. I'm too attached to people. Ex-ter-minate.

Ooooh, like the add-on!!! Not entirely sure what I'll use it for but I never could resist the shiny!!! :)

His jawline keeps reminding me of Eric Stoltz's character in Mask...

But, yes, the constant change is definitely heartbreaking, especially when it feels like you've just gotten completely comfortable and truly accepted a new character.

You forgot Nine *heart breaks again*

Honestly, just like any other show, I find that I get attached to some characters and not to others. I bawled when Nine regenerated and boycotted the show for ages when Rose was taken away. When I came back, I was still ehhh about Ten, but it didn't bother me to see Martha go. I cried like a little bitch when Donna went. I couldn't care less that Ten is regenerating.

...but into that thing? Really? He looks like he's some eighteen year old emo kid and he's got no eyebrows wtf :P but I'm waiting to judge, because I almost never gave Martha a chance, but when I did, I actually kind of liked her. So maybe I'll get lucky. I still think it should've been Eddie Izzard, though. *grumps*

Also, you're welcome ;)

On the plus side, the constant change means that if you *don't* like a character, you can take comfort in the knowledge that they won't be around to bother you much longer.

And, hey, recently we've gotten Sarah Jane and the Fifth Doctor and the Brig back in various ways, and they were long gone, so it's not like "they left" means "gone forever".

(Srsly, if this were any other show I would be constantly heartbroken by the character turnover rate, but....somehow I'm not and I keep trying to justify that to myself because I don't understand it! *flail*

The fanficcer's love meme link doesn't work for me. Leads me to amusing LJ error 404 pages, though. :-)

Those of us who grew up with Old Who are quite philosophical about regeneration as a concept, and the inevitable ebb and flow of companions. We can, however, get quite exercised about the specific new people who show up.

This guy...I'm prepared to accept him, but I'm rather grumpy that he's a) so much younger than I am, and b) white. Sigh. It seems like a missed opportunity to me, but obviously the creative team has a vision of where they want to take the Doctor that he fulfills. So I'll wait and see.

I know! I know! I've been jumping around seasons of Doctor Who and gotten attached to David Tennant. He's leaving!
*sobs*

New guy? He's my age! Not that that's bad or anything, just...he looks like he belongs in Twilight! And that's not a good thing!

LOL! I still miss Adric! That should tell you something about how many people have come and gone since I started watching.

Never in my time as a who fan did I ever expect the doctor to look so creepy 0_0

Eek, the leaving! It's been slighting easier on new!Who fans with Jack coming and going, and Rose and Martha popping up a bit, but it's still hard. I like the angst, though, you can't get anything better outside of HP.

But ugh, this guy! I'm trying so hard not to be pessimistic, but I keep seeing him on my flist and thinking "what are you doing here? Get back to my bandom communities!" and then realizing oh, yeah, that's Eleven. Ugh.

Have you ever seen Coupling? I think Ben Miles would have been a good Doctor. Or Eddie Izzard. Or anyone except who we have, really. =/
