iOS5 for Apple

In case anyone needs the info, I just upgraded to iOS5 on my iPhone and I didn't have any snags at all. (Of course it took 3 hours, but 2 of those hours were the iOS upgrade downloading onto my computer and me doing other stuff like eating dinner, looking at pictures of Paul Wesley, spinning in a circle, etc.)

I didn't lose any contacts/voicemails/apps/settings/files. Not a one! And I actually didn't even get any errors. I retroactively found a site that follows basically the same steps I took. (Minus the error of course.)

* Make sure you have iTunes 10.5 installed on your computer
* Connect iOS device via USB
* Sync your device to backup all apps and data.
* In iTunes, select your device and click “Check for updates”
* Select, Download and Install
* (If you get Error 3200, restart your computer and update again)
* When device is restarting or after restarting wait patiently and do not try to mess with your iOS device
* iTunes will have a popup “Restoring Apps…”, the device will NOT say syncing in progress, so DONT play with the device until the Apps restore is done, it will probably take over an hour.
* After ITunes popup “Restoring Apps…” is gone, it will start a sync with a sync icon spinning in iOS device top bar, wait until this completes
* Now unlock the iOS device and go through the setup process prompts to complete location, iCloud, Find my Phone,… setups.
* You are DONE.

Good to know it worked for you! I'll hopefully be downloading it soon.

This is a very important part as I tried to do a reset of my device in the middle because it seemingly froze and then I had a horrible 30 mins where my phone wouldn't do anything but tell me I needed to connect to iTunes............ only to be told by iTunes it couldn't restore it. (It works now though!)
