this is a thing that is happening

Ummmm......

WHY?

Truth? I never even halfway looked at him until this trailer:

Based on that trailer, The Lucky was is going to be ridiculous and overwrought. But holy fuck, that sex scene. Those tats. It's tots cool to buy a ticket to a movie for one scene, right?

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
But I love ridiculous and overwrought things! Don't you know that about me? (And mostly sex scenes with tattoos.) I don't even care. I am seeing it. Haha.

I guess I didn't! But I approve. I showed the trailer to several of my RL friends and we were all like, 'okay, that is a girl's night movie.'

[identity profile] darlulu.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Damn. Just, damn.

I am so there.

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You can sit by me. Hehe.

OMG, what's with Nicholas Sparks and the guys who play his characters on screen? They always seem to either have a resurgence (Kevin Costner) or they're going intergalactic within a year (Gosling). This might make him realize the potential of his HSM days -- this will probably call back to his HSM fans and attract older fans (I mean, he looked comfy with an older partner in New Year's Eve). With his new croptop and his meatier body, he's a more viable Cougar bait.

This is what happens when you try replying to comments on your phone. That one was not meant for you. But yeah, I will agree. I watched Charlie St. Cloud this week and while he is definitely more grown up in that, this NS thing will probably tip the scales. I want to watch Orson Welles and Me too. But I hope this leads to more... Thought provoking material? Haha. Because the dude can obviously act.

UNF UNF UNF. DUDE GREW UP SO NICE. Lol. When I first saw this trailer in theaters, I may or may not have blurted out some lustful thoughts afterward in the heat of the moment, much the amusement of my BF and the strangers in the audience around me, ROTFL. I also might have seen New Years Eve just at the prospect of him getting all May/December-y with Michelle Pfeiffer ... WHAT IS MY LIFE ;P

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I am just glad I didn't see this trailer in theaters because I might have done the same. Haha. Also? I am probably seeing that crapfest (NYE) in 2 hours. Because we are both obviously afflicted.

It's not ... the worst movie in the world. LOL.

[identity profile] hypertwink.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I...agree. I had the crappiest luck that when I had to pass time, I went to watch NYE since I actually liked Valentine's Day. The I realized that this is a horror movie for me since many of the actresses I dislike in some form or another are in this: Halle, Hilary, SJP, and most of all LEA!!! The only storylines I really cared about was Little Miss Sunshine and Max Russo trying to kiss at midnight and the wonderfully UST-laden romp that was Zac/Michelle -- I can't believe that Link Larkin & Velma Von Tussle are macking on each other =)

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know who link larkin and velma von tussle are, lol.

I watched the movie and I feel like I enjoyed it MORE than Valentine's Day. But I can't be sure that isn't because of the Zac quotient alone. I enjoyed the blooper sequence with the two of them hamming it up and dancing. Very cute.

[identity profile] hypertwink.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Link & Velma - Hairspray. =)

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It wasn't as bad as I thought. And Zac's character was the best part of it. For sure.

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
You people make me feel much better about this new development in my life. Right there with you, friend. Haha.

[identity profile] workswithwords.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
NOW I DON'T FEEL SO BAD HAVING A CRUSH ON ZAC EFRON. Seriously, how did he get so hot? Even in that bad movie he was in with Matthew Broderick, he was extremely good looking.

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU SHOULDN'T! Haha. I am like, when did this happen? I do not jest when I say that I never looked at him that way before. I even remember wanting to see Charlie St. Cloud because it looked sad/good. I wasn't like "oh yeah, zac efron is hot in that." I can admit when I'm wrong. I watched that movie this week. And he was hot in it. I STAND CORRECTED.

[identity profile] workswithwords.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I keep coming back to this post just because I can't help myself. You've created a sickness in me!

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never been prouder.

[identity profile] blighted-star.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
He's actually not a bad looking guy.

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Not even a little.

[identity profile] hamarakissa.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
He's definitely better looking in this movie than all his other movies - so glad he's out of the HSM phase! BUt seriously that sex scene alone makes me wanna watch the film and the girl is from the show Mercy :D

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, I think he's been working on it for a while. I think I might watch Me & Orson Welles starring him tonight before the NYE festivities at my house commence. (And why not, I already saw NYE this afternoon in theaters. lol. It's a sickness.)

[identity profile] elise-509.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
He actually seems more like a man now; I totally see the appeal! For a long time he looked so young, even more young than he actually was. He kinda reminds me of Jensen Ackles for some reason, even though apart from being pretty they don't really look that much alike. When I saw New Year's Eve, though, that's just what I kept thinking!

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
He's really grown up quite nicely. Which sounds silly to say because he's like 24. It's not like he was 16 years old just yesterday. But for a long time it seemed like it!

[identity profile] haldoor.livejournal.com 2012-01-01 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, he's definitely grown up there. Mmmhmm. And yes, even 24 yo's can 'grow up' - just look at Johnny Depp! He looked like a teenager until well in his 30's. And definitely buffing up has helped Zac no end. I think I may have to look more closely myself! ;-)

[identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com 2012-01-01 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Hasn't he?

You know I oddly do NOT remember ever thinking Johnny Depp looked younger than he was. But I definitely remember that about Leo DiCaprio. Who was so skinny and just... little-boy-like foreVERRR.

[identity profile] o-glorianna.livejournal.com 2012-08-10 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
(Fly-by comment! I think we knew each other back when you were under a different LJ name, and when BSG was still the Current Big Thing on TV. (Oh, those far gone days).)

This post sums up my feelings exactly. When did he grow up?! I also regret not sitting through this trailer because the water/sex scene? Yes, please!

Inquiring minds want to know: Are his tattoos real? (Google tells me no...)
