So I guess what I'm doing is not leaving LJ.

I have made a concerted effort to post more there this year, and this whole TOS-change has a lot of people running scared/angry. I don't really count myself among them. I don't really like the TOS of any site I use, and I tend to take them with a grain of salt. I'm sure that the the folks who run the site are just trying to keep it alive. But because so many are probably going to make the jump, and this is probably the death rattle of my little group of people still posting, I've decided to at least make DW my "main home."

As in... I'm in the queue to transfer over all of my most recent entries to DW and what I plan to do is just use DW but I'll still continue to cross-post to LJ. I'll still check my flist at LJ as long as people are still posting. (I only do this like once every two weeks though, so that's not saying much, haha.)

If you're leaving LJ and you're moving to DW please let me know in the comments here or there. I'll still be around at both places, I'm krickets at DW and crickets at LJ.

I've already had a DW account for a while, but declared that I was going over to DW full-time. I don't know if that's the right decision or not. At any rate, I'm hepburnesque at both places. And, hi. :D Oh, and I don't like there not being an app for DW. LJ has one and I mostly check my friends list when I'm on my phone.

How do you transfer entries from LJ to DW? I copied and pasted mine, but there's probably an easier way to do it.

There's a way you can to it in DW. I google "how to transfer LJ entries to DW" and it was the first search result. You get added to a queue and it usually completes within a day or a few hours or something. It's supposed to transfer over comments too and in the past that's worked but it didn't happen this time. Maybe there's a delay on those!

You can always just set up crossposting if you're not sure I guess. I don't know. I'm keeping my LJ.

I backed up my journal to Dreamwidth at well but I never liked it very much. I'm sticking with LJ I guess until it gets eventually deleted.

I'm glad to see you here. It's a real shame what lj has done. I don't believe that the current owners have any meaningful intention on allowing the site to keep going as it was. They have the legal tools to pretty much do what they want and I don't feel safe not to see the site disappear under my feet any random day,

I'm here. *hugs* I imported my LJ several years ago and then did it again last week to catch more recent entries. I'd like to get back into the habit of posting more, and I'd like to do it here. I'm keeping my LJ because it's a permanent account (and I love all my icons and such), but I'm going to make DW my primary site.
