No no no, canon gives us so many lead ins for these two. There's that whole "never leave your leader" thing, then the fight in UB. I always imagined Kara would corner her little upstart and teach him a lesson or two.
Actually, I think about it too much. I even wrote it once, but never had the guts to post.
