→ So, I think I kind of have a new show. Observe:

[source.]
It's called Haven and it's on SyFy and that's Eric Balfour & Emily Rose, two of its stars. Duke and Audrey, respectively. It's pretty much... a SyFy show, but I am still digging it.

→ True Blood this season is much better than last season I think. By the end of last season I was pretty much ready to give it all up. I'm a bit disappointed in a couple of minor things book-related. like... ) And it will always be that show where at the end of it I say to myself "what the fuck just happened there?" But I suppose that's part of its charm. Also charming? ) And yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say. Still watching, and it's still as batshit crazy as ever. The end.

→ I watched the first two eps of Eureka season four even though I'd never seen a single episode before. Why? James motherfrakkin' Callis, ladies and gentlemen. I do have a soft spot for the man and I just couldn't help myself. Now I am wanting to catch up with the whole series so I can consume season four as fast as possible. The way the stories are told and production-wise it reminds me a lot of Stargate: Atlantis actually. I'm looking forward to that.

→ Huge. I watched the first two eps of this show and liked it enough to continue, but I keep missing it! I will have more to say when I've caught up. I pretty much like everyone except for that main character. Normally, not a good sign. But I'm willing to persist.

→ I may be the only other human being I know that still watches this show, but I am really liking Entourage this season. In terms of in depth storytelling, they've never exactly been the greatest. But in terms of entertainment and character continuity and random crap that makes you laugh? They are king. mini spoilers? sorry! ) What could be better?

→ Persons Unknown. Still watching. Still enjoying. It keeps throwing curveballs at me, actually and I have no idea what's going to happen next. I kind of wish they'd do more character stuff because those moments when they've gone there have been the best ones in my opinion. But whatever, they can do what they want. I'll still probably watch until the end. It's a mini-series, might as well.

→ I heard there's a new preview for Sons of Anarchy that kicks ass. Someone link me?

→ On a non-tv related note, I have some music I want to share but I'll do that later.

→ lost squee luau. currently kicking my ass. *gasps for air*

I'm pretty notorious for having the least popular opinions you can have in fandom. I'm not sure why. And it's not as though I'm trying, it just is, you know? It would be far easier for me if this weren't the case. I am this way because Jacob made me this way, by the way.

PROOF

→ I can't bring myself to write and [generally] don't desire to read 80-90% of canon pairings. It's a disease. Which may or may not be contagious. *coughs on you*

I can't help it that I chronically multi-ship. My motto? Make me believe. That is all I ask. [I'm not sure if that part is terribly unpopular.]

→ [I often still enjoy the canon representations of the pairings that I don't read/write in fic.]

→ We've discussed my relationship with Juliet from Lost, yes? Everyone loves her. Me, not so much. [I also had major issues with Charlie, Ben, and Locke.]

→ The same goes for Eric from True Blood. And the Sookie Stackhouse book series. And I'm on book four. I'm pretty sure he's the most popular character next to Sookie herself.

→ Everyone seems to be really liking Glee. Whereas I watched the first half-hour the other day and quit halfway through, call it lack of sleep mixed with lack of interest. Maybe the 2nd half makes up for it?

→ If my phone hadn't died I'd still be voting for Kris Allen. Have I mentioned I don't actually watch the show?

→ I prefer Ronon/Sheppard to McShep. [But I still like McShep!]

→ Misha Collins kind of gives me the heebs. Fine, I said it! [Feel free to use icons of him when you respond to this post, Dayl.]

→ I am sure there's more I can't think of at the moment. How does one pick examples from their perpetual state of being? It all just runs together. I'm damn contrary, okay?

→ I haven't been participating that much around here lately and I'm not sure why that is. I'm busy with school and work, but that usually doesn't stop me. I'm just not being a very good flister.

[livejournal.com profile] lenina20 posted this new Big Love promo which comes back tonight on HBO. I am so happy to have this show back soon. Just, yes. So good.

My condensed thoughts on BSG 4.11, Sometimes a Great Notion. )

→ I interrupt this review to bring you pictures:

[click for bigger]

→ I finally finished Atlantis. I have no review just... I'm going to miss it. When's the movie coming out?

→ Watched some movies this weekend. Wristcutters: A Love Story. I love Tom Waits. Biggest motivator to watch it. But I really, really, did not like this movie. Someone who liked it please explain to me why so many people like this? On the reverse, The Nanny Diaries was pretty cute and I really enjoyed The Lucky Ones with Tim Robbins and Rachel McAdams. Worth the watch, both of them.

→ I started watching The Magnificent Seven and it's pretty adorable so far. I could do with less extended gunslinging showdowns. Keep those shorter! They bore me! But I'm kind of in love with Ezra and I totally ship him and Chris. "Never run out on me again." COME ON!

→ Veronica Mars movie? I could totally get on that. I just need to finish watching season three now.

→ Holy crap this entry's long.

Buffy Box Set on sale today at amazon for $69.99. And I thought I got a good deal getting it at $99 bucks back when I bought it. I think amazon usually sells it for $149 or there-about.

→ Jason Momoa, of SGA, -see icon- was apparently attacked last week and had to get 140 stitches in his face, and re-constructive surgery. Holy crap! I am beyond stunned at this news. Poor guy. I don't even know how to imagine anyone's face with 140 stitches in it. Jesus.

→ Loved Grey's Anatomy last night. my c&p'ed reaction ) This show is really just getting better and better. I don't care if people are hating on it right now. In so many ways it reminds me of why I love TV.

→ I am now about four episodes behind on Friday Night Lights. I don't know what my problem is there. I also haven't watched Pushing Daisies this week yet. With news of its cancellation, I may just try to stretch this out as long as possible, hehe. I can save them up for a rainy day!

→ I had yummy chocolate cake and pizza today for my birthday at work! I got a sparkly pink magic wand, also! Hehe. So adorable! I love my job.

→ I am four episodes into The West Wing. I have no clue why the hell I'm watching another TV show but I have this theory that it's my alter-ego's secret plot to keep me from writing or being creative in any way at all. Sadly, I lack the willpower to put a stop to these sorts of shenanigans. This may have something to do with the fact that I think I kind of love everyone so far.

→ I don't usually go all public announcement on your asses regarding birthdays. I used to try, but I always ended up forgetting and then I'd feel bad. But she's bestest, so I have no choice! Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] dayln03!!! Guess what!?!? I got you a PONY! (It's being shipped, don't worry! Actually, I got you two ponies. I named them Chuck and Olive.)

→ You know what I never got? bb! I mean. I understand what it means, but when I see it, I think of her, always.

→ I decided to disable the custom comment pages on my journal. They're more user friendly right? That was the purpose of doing so anyway. We'll see how it works out.

→ For those who haven't seen it and aren't a member, [livejournal.com profile] lenina20 posted an entry about shipping and writing in LOST at [livejournal.com profile] thequillstation. There was also a nice discussion by [livejournal.com profile] falafel_fiction the other week about carrying on when canon disappoints. Both great reads and great discussions in the comments. I haven't participated nearly enough in that community.

→ Another thing I wanted to link to when it was first posted but never got around to doing, was a vidding documentary created by [livejournal.com profile] laurashapiro, Francesca Coppa, OTW and MIT. Very cool.

→ I haven't watched the last two eps of FNL, though I hear they're awesome! I also haven't watched the latest episode of SGA. I'd say I'd do that today, but I think I'm gonna hold out until I get some writing done. I'll reward myself with TV. (We'll see how that pans out, hah.)

→ Speaking of FNL, have you guys seen THIS crazy/awesome promo by DirecTV? Crazy! I just might love it.

[livejournal.com profile] amathela put together an awesome vid recs list for me over here. I couldn't be more pleased. Almost all of those are fandoms I'm only slightly familiar with and each of the videos is just wonderful. You should definitely check it out and go watch the vids!

[livejournal.com profile] purestvixen is hanging out at FanExpo this weekend and she proved that she is the queen of nice by getting this:

→ Writing and vidding this weekend are a no-go so far, but I did get a chance to catch up on Stargate Atlantis and I watched The Shrine (5x06), and holy mac & cheese, it was awesome! best ep ever? )

→ And speaking of other things I'm doing besides vidding, I have a really crazy idea for a Carnivale vid. I'd have to edit the song quite a bit but it just may work. And it just might be the most awesomely bad thing I've ever done ever. FAIR WARNING.

→ I have a date with Sony Vegas this coming weekend. I'll let you know if we do more than just stare at one another.

→ I've decided I should start reading the books I have checked out of the library. I have two here that I've barely touched. What is that about!?!

[livejournal.com profile] fight_for_sga. It's a small group, but they may come up with a campaign. Hey, if peanuts saved Jericho and Tabasco saved Roswell? Goonies never say die!

I had anticipated this vid and I think it lived up to all of the talk. Without delving too deep into the subject I'll just say that it's a scathing critique of how CoCs and women are treated or very well ignored in Buffy & Angel, Veronica Mars, and Supernatural. It also seems to be saying something about the violence therein, but I haven't really had a chance to think about it that much. Most will recognize the song, harsh and aggressive, just like the message of this awesome vid!

I'll Be There, Buffy, by [livejournal.com profile] millylicious
I was so so moved by this quiet little vid. The song seems to be made for Buffy and what she means to the people around her, what they're willing to do for her. This vid made my heart swell and my eyes a little damp.

Tear You Apart, Firefly, by [livejournal.com profile] bradcpu
A strangely disturbing and completely awesome Simon/Kaylee vid. You just have to see it to believe it. In-frakking-credible.

There may be more recs to come and there may be more that I'm forgetting.

Also? SGA was cancelled? What the frakkity frak!?!?!
