Wow! This is the most insulting thing I've read in a long time.

For educational purposes, I present this, courtesy trollprincess - which clearly shows a change in Dean's/the show's behavior/language since the first two seasons.

I'm not arguing a point. I honestly don't care - but just because I can't be assed to care about a show that has let me down all season, doesn't mean a thing doesn't exist, and it doesn't mean it's okay.

And just... the OP calling all those who care about the issue whiny, self important females, shows that they truly, honestly, don't get it. Whatever. Worship on, hero worshippers. (Not that you couldn't do that without insulting those of us who choose not to... that is.)

I've been planning on writing a "why I may or may not watch season 4" post for a few days. But I'll let it wait until this latest wankery has died down.

A couple things because obviously, I fail at hiatuses... hiatusi? (What's the plural of hiatus?)

Finally, I want to link you SPN-type folks to this entry by musesfool, for those of you who haven't seen it, which expresses much more eloquently and thoroughly my thoughts on the last episode, more specifically, the recent unintentional racism (and sexism) trend on the show.

(I think it should be said, I'm not usually one to notice these types of things. I think the fact that it's so glaring this season that even I'm taking note of it says a lot. And I don't think it alters my opinion of the show, but it is something I have noticed, and it does concern me a bit.)

001. Did I mention that I totally LOVE whales? Cause I do.

002. I miss my skateboards. Which is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever said, because I happen to sleep above them every night.

003. Supernatural this week = awesome. ( spoilers, racism meta )

004. Lost this week = mindfuckery. I don't have anything intelligent to offer about it though. Sadly.

006 I used to get beat up when I was in junior high. A lot. By boys! Don't you fret, I fought back. But I was thinking today, how many people have been in a real fist fight? I mean, we see violence on television and in movies constantly. No doubt we all know what a fight looks like. But how many of you guys have actually been in a real live physical fight? I'm interested to hear about that.

I haven't really been paying that much attention to "Situation JubJub," if you will, and I am well aware that I am late to the game. I also know I'm mostly quiet on the fandom front, but I have brains in my head (and feet in my shoes!) and here's a small observation/analysis of the reason everybody is going batshit!crazy.

It's about hero worship. The people arguing? Are in a civil war. (Deep, I know!) There is blood on the streets of Jensenville, ladies and gentlemen. Observe, the factions:

Camp A: These rambunctious folks follow the mindset that they love Jensen, despite his (real or perceived) faults. In fact they think his faults are pretty adorable. Look! Look at his faults! Aren't they stinkin' cute?

Camp B: These lovely citizens also love Jensen, but they do not acknowledge that Jensen has any faults. Look how completely faultless he is! Look! I mean, check the freckles! The hair! The laugh! Oh! Isn't he perfect?

Clearly, Camp A and Camp B both love Jensen to itty bitty Jensen-shaped bits, they simply disagree on how they should love him. Camp B wishes Camp A would just shut the frak up about these so-called faults, because it ruins the illusion of perfection. And Camp A is totally annoyed that Camp B finds anything wrong with breaking the illusion, and loving him despite the fact that he is, in fact, a real person.

I propose a reconciliation of these opposing factions. And I have, thus, re-written Tim Minchin's Peace Anthem for Palestine, in spirit of fandom love.

Footnote: I make no assertions or assumptions about whether or not Jensen is actually chubby, or has 762 freckles, or bites the heads off baby chickens in his spare time. Besides, I don't think it's really all that important... well, maybe the chicken thing...

I am well aware that this may be an unpopular opinion, but holy christ. It just isn't the same show anymore. I turned the episode off, off, midway through last night. And I have no real desire to download it either.

I'm holding out. I'm not giving up, but I'm really really disappointed overall. (And I like Ruby, more of her, kthnx.)
