Really? No... REALLY?

It's hot and cold, this Supernatural. In which I give my brief reaction to
001. The upped the angst. Thumbs up!
002. I know she's supposed to be "snow white." But in a coma for at least 8 years and she's wearing more make-up than the corner store hooker? Um, no. Metaphors, people. Metaphors.
003. Sam is gay and can do things with pens. Angsty over-the-shoulder glances. Wincest subtext? Check!
004. So um, maybe Ruby isn't, Lucifer. But a girl can dream. And holy crap I missed her this ep! Yes really!
005. Sandy, Sandy, Sandy. She has so little stage presence. I do not understand how they could possibly think she would be good for that role. She gives a bad name to all the other crossroads demons before her. Honestly. Honestly. The entire scene was just awkward. (Whereas all the other crossroads scenes before it seemed tense and electric.) Sandy's acting makes me cry. Plus they had her made up all wrong. That's just facts, ladies and gents.

3. So many revalations this year..Sam IS gay indeed, he is a master with his hands - a fact for which Dean can totally vouch!
And again with the angst, Sam can't just let him go because they are in epic love with each other! ;) On a serious note though, I am really glad they're uppin the angst, even if it's just a little, that they're addressing Dean's problem more. I like that.
4. Ruby, oh Ruby. I missed her too! I said that to my mom while we were watching, she agrees with us (in case you were wondering). I really, truly have enjoyed Ruby so far. Bella is dumb, but Ruby, I definitely think her character has a lot of potential to become very awesome. And I think Katie Cassidy's acting is kinda rubbing off on me.
5. *sigh* Sandy...wow, I'm actually REALLY glad Sam shot her so there's no chance of her ever making a guest appearance again. Because..wow. Akward is definitely the right word. I don't think they played off each other very well either, maybe it's just because we're used to seeing Dean interact with the crossroads demons, but I really don't think she and Jared worked very well on screen together.

05. No they really didn't. Which is shockingly the last thing you'd expect. I didn't expect to be so underwhelmed by her performance in general.

Date: 2007-11-02 04:45 am (UTC)Though part of that may be because her performance was... less than stellar. I read a review somewhere tonight in which someone said that when you looked at Jared in that scene, you were watching Sam. But when you looked at Sandy, you were watching Sandy, trying to act. And that pretty much covers it.
She may have been better in another role. She didn't do well with this part at all, imo.

You'd think that if Sandy was supposed to be Sam's "ideal woman" (as stated by Jared in his TV Guide interview), that there'd be a bit more chemistry than there was. Not necessarily...you know. But something more than there was. I don't even know how to explain it, except that there just...wasn't anything. Like you said. There was just no electric.

Date: 2007-11-02 06:42 pm (UTC)002. Hee, who said you couldn't be all pretty lying in bed all day?
003. I'm no wincester but I LOVE it when they put stuff like that in there. *snorts*
004. *seconds that* Kinda makes you wonder too, what she did to piss of a fellow demon...
005. Yeah, her little presence might also be due to the fact that I tend to compare that scene with Dean's encounters with crossroad demons which were in themselves more electrified and superior. But those cute little crossroad demons are supposed to be the person's dream partner or something, right? Maybe Sam is all for the quieter girls, no? That aside, I missed the more playfull demons too though^^
