→ I need to talk about things. I've been a bad flister lately I think. I feel like part of it is having two jobs now and less time. And the other part of it is just random not-posting-fun-things-for-no-reason. I apologize, please forgive me.

→ Anybody remember last year when I was doing that cute animal poll and then I totally forgot about it? Yeah, me either.

→ I just want to say hello to everyone attending Vividcon this year. I know you all will enjoy it and personally I am just excited for the new vids to start cropping up! Yay for new vids.

→ I keep thinking about how there's so much TV starting back/starting anew this fall and my brain starts to leak out of my ears. I have no idea how I'm going to watch everything I want to watch. It's not going to be easy, but by gosh I'll give it a try! One show I'm looking forward to that I've heard pretty much nobody talking about is called Whitney. It's a comedy and it's coming on NBC (don't quote me on that) -- it looks pretty clever. I'm also super excited to see The Beek playing himself in Apartment 23 at mid-season. I have no idea why this excites me so much, but I have this weird sort of love for him now. I blame twitter. (And those GIFs from last year.)

→ True Blood? What can I say, I haven't truly watched it since the second episode of the season. I have skimmed through all the rest. Basically I am aware of what's happening with Jason, Jessica, Bill (sorta), Sookie (sorta)... and everyone else I have only paused long enough to get bits and pieces. *shrug* I may or may not legitimately catch up eventually. Currently it's leaning toward not. We'll see!

→ Haven! I haven't watched last week's yet, but it's still filling that Haven-size hole in my TV scheduling. It's a simple show and I enjoy it. Duke is still my favorite. The end.

→ The Glades. Meh. I have no idea what their ratings are like but I'll be surprised if they're renewed for a third season. It's just not as fun as it was last season. I really wish they'd delve a little deeper. I want to keep loving it because I actually do have an affection for these characters, but it's kind of hard when they don't put any real effort into being something more than open and shut case of the week.

→ Entourage! (Look! I am excited!) I am a little perplexed by the fact that A) I ever watched this show in the first place, let alone from the start, B) The characters are so well-defined C) It's been on so long, D) It's ending, and E) That this season is turning out to be so darn good! I could do without certain recurring guest stars, but overall I am just enamored with this show again and I feel like by the time it's over that I won't ever want it to end.

→ Parks & Rec. Finally watched it (am still watching it). Skipped the entire first season which was nearly physically painful for me. I am such a completist and it goes against my entire tv-watching nature. But I was doing this whole "let me watch everything I can on netflix if they're going to overcharge my ass." And it sort of happened and now.. I'm just a few episodes away from the season 3 finale. And I've enjoyed myself. Imagine that.

→ LUTHER. This show has a serious problem with creepy killers who target women in the most fucked up, brutal, creepy way possible. Enough with that already. But aside from that, I'm loving this show. It's so dark and twisty and has a great cast and good writing and Idris Elba, who has more screen presence than you can shake a stick at. (Ruth Wilson too.) Good show. Watch it.

I just wanna go on record and say that I've been (half-assedly) planning a Katherine vid to Lykke Li's Get Some for over a month! Was going to finally start working on it this weekend so I could hopefully finish it in the next 10 days. But now? I am thinking I might have to pull out. There's probably going to be like 50 fanvids to that now. Shit!

VIVIDCON HAS ARRIVED

Which means that it's time for amazing videos to be posted that will blow your mind/make you wanna dance/fill you with glee etc. I am finally over that whole "watching vids will make me unable to vid myself" paranoia that I was stuck in for, oh, about a year, with little exception. So now I am just enjoying the show, so-to-speak. [And getting inspired.]

This show was always beautiful but it has never looked as amazing as it does in this vid. The editing, the music, the epicness, the hotness, the sex! It's just gorgeous! You'll love it even if you've never seen the show. [And now I should probably consider watching season two.]

FYI, here's the list of vids I have to wait to watch so far. And that's just from people on my flist who have posted yet. I'm sure there are countless others I'm missing. I will go in search of them and find them and add them ALL to the list.

I should probably let those in Vividcon-Nation (and those there by proxy with vid-representation) know that I am not going to be watching videos at the current time. Not because I haven't been anticipating them for months. No, I assure you, I have indeed. But because I, ladies and gentlemen, am vidding for the first time in a year and a half. (24 seconds... maybe 23?) And I know that your awesomeness will only implode my brain and I won't be able to finish. I will, though, be memming and bookmarking stuff as it rolls out and will be back to watch with rapt attention as soon as I am done. Or... finished, in the negative sense. (Cause I'm not ruling that out yet, pay no attention to my defeatist attitude!)

→ I came home from work and saw that sol_se got her VividCon DVDs in the mail today so I ran downstairs to ask if I'd gotten any packages today. But! Nobody had checked the mail!! So, I went outside traipsing through the puddles in my bare feet, in the dark!, to the mailbox and can you guess what I found inside? (Well, I never said subtlety was my strong suit.) So yes! I am super excited and kind of feel like doing a vividcon marathon this evening. There are tons I have yet to see and I have the TV all too myself! (Though I may stretch it out a couple of days.)

→ I re-watched the movie Eight Below today. I honestly don't care if it's considered good or not, but I love that movie, despite the sadness. Puppies! I miss having a dog. The re-watching was indeed prompted by the new Fast & The Furious trailer. I can't believe the entire principle principal (Thank you kmousie.) cast is returning. That is just loopy! I never watched a single one of the sequels but I am really tempted to watch this one!

I had anticipated this vid and I think it lived up to all of the talk. Without delving too deep into the subject I'll just say that it's a scathing critique of how CoCs and women are treated or very well ignored in Buffy & Angel, Veronica Mars, and Supernatural. It also seems to be saying something about the violence therein, but I haven't really had a chance to think about it that much. Most will recognize the song, harsh and aggressive, just like the message of this awesome vid!

I was so so moved by this quiet little vid. The song seems to be made for Buffy and what she means to the people around her, what they're willing to do for her. This vid made my heart swell and my eyes a little damp.

A strangely disturbing and completely awesome Simon/Kaylee vid. You just have to see it to believe it. In-frakking-credible.
