youtube: now offering "watch in high quality"

Hey vidders! Did you notice that youtube is now offering a "watch in high quality" option on select vids? Here are two examples. The high quality link is below the view count. I don't know if this is a beta, which is why it's only available to some vids? Or what? Anyway I thought it was pretty interesting.

Here's a little news about it: Steve Chen said that the high-quality streams will be available in the next months, but only for some of the videos.

I wonder how they're chosen and if it'll eventually expand to all vids? Only three of my 19 uploaded vids have the option. Even the sound is much better.

This is news to me. I hadn't noticed it until today. Granted, I don't spend much time on yt as it is...

I noticed that on the last vid I uploaded too. And it definitely looked shinier in the HQ setting. I wasn't sure if I just hadn't noticed it before, or if it only gave me the option now because I just starting HQ clips. Either way, I hope they keep providing that option! Shinier=better :D

Yeah it does look much better, and sound better too! Looks like it's just random luck of the draw or something.

Yeah, I noticed it on the last vid I uploaded, and it really makes a difference. It's about time, too - the quality on youtube can really be poor even when your source is good.
