he'p me!

I was just about to go to bed, but I remembered I have wanted to post this all week!

Has anybody reading this ever participated in, run, or even heard of, a fandom-specific slash-a-thon? I'd like to take a look and see how they've been done in the past to get an idea of how to stage one in the future.

[livejournal.com profile] cynthia_arrow and I are talking about putting one on for Battlestar Galactica due to the painful lack of m/m slash in that fandom and our quest to remedy that. (If only for a short while.) But neither of us have experience in holding fic-a-thons, let alone slash-a-thons.

Can anyone point me in any kind of direction?

Thanks!

I think my being totally frakking retarded on the phone with Dayln made the fact that I was sleepy as hell... well, disappear.

Some things:

001. I'm working on my Sweet Charity fics. I've got about a month to complete them and they're coming along nicely. I should be posting the first of those in the next week or two. I have John in Hell (spn), Jo goes home (spn), and Anders and Apollo get drunk and touch each other's naughty bits (bsg) to write. And honestly I'm really enjoying plotting/planning/writing all of them. I couldn't have asked for better prompts from my bidders. I've just been lazy and have put them off until now. I did a lot of research/brainstorming at first, and then it just kind of tapered off.

*climbs back into saddle*

Giddy 'up!

002. I saw some flicks over the holiday (theater and at home) that I've been meaning to review, Dan in Real Life, The Mist, Fred Claus, & Death Proof. I may or may not get to these so here's the short review for those, respectively: Yes! Um, no! Meh. Holy shit, I love this movie!

003. I got the BASCon discs in the mail about two days ago and I sat down the other night to watch them. There are some beautiful vids included and I will certainly be offering up my review/recs of those in the next few days. So incredible. I am humbled to be among the vidders on that roster. Extremely so. [livejournal.com profile] morgan_dawn deserves heaps of kudos for putting that together.

004. Speaking of BASCon vids, one of the vids on that disc, You Can Call Me by SDWolfpup (I believe, proper review later) has inspired me to download an entire batch of late-season Due South episodes. I can't wait to watch them!

005. Other projects I have in the works are a big batch of Andy Pettitte icons for the lovely and amazing [livejournal.com profile] kmousie and the old-fashioned throw down/duel that [livejournal.com profile] dayln03 and I have issued each other over at [livejournal.com profile] everydamnthing

006. I have been stuck on this BSG Kara/Lee, Kara/Anders video for, gosh, a month now? I started pretty much immediately after posting Battlestar Inferno. That's a month right? Anyway, I have vidder's block. And BAD.

005. I spam, therefore I am.
