→ I'm still having a hard time coping with the new changes. Bleh. I can usually find a way to be optimistic about stuff, but this I can't.

→ There's apparently a movie [TV movie maybe?] in which Kate Winslet plays Evan Rachel Wood's mother. And on top of that it's a period piece. I did that math, people. Kate was 11 years old when Evan was born. What is with all these super young actresses playing the mothers of twenty-somethings? Thirty five is too young to have a daughter in her mid-twenties. Maybe it's because I'm approaching the big three-zero, but it irks me to no end. Can we at least try to cast people so they're remotely age appropriate? Please? Holy hell.

→ I also increasingly notice the age-gap between romantic leads. It keeps getting bigger and bigger. Vera Farmiga seemed more closely matched to George Clooney in Up in the Air, but he's actually about 12 years older than her. She's only 37. Matt Damon is also 12 years older than Emily Blunt and they're starring in The Adjustment Bureau together soon. Ben Affleck and Rebecca Hall are more closely matched but they're still 10 years apart. These are just ones I've noticed lately and they're probably not even the bigger age gaps. I think that "Couples Retreat" was a good [bad?] example of that! And you guys know me, I have no problem with younger/older relationships, but when it seems to be the rule rather than the exception, it kind of sticks out to me as oddly mystifying and a little annoying. Compare it with Chasing Amy, for example. Ben is actually four years younger than Joey Lauren Adams. [Apparently she's 42!]

→ I have no idea where these random rants came from. Ignore me.
