Movie Reviews! Not spoilery.

The Town
Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner, John Hamm, Rebecca Hall
I saw this last weekend and while I liked it I was a little disappointed in it. I'm spoiled because I saw Affleck's first film Gone, Baby, Gone just a couple months ago and so by comparison, in my opinion, The Town pales a bit. It was still good but it's not something I think I'll really remember later as a great movie. I felt like Rebecca Hall and John Hamm's characters would be more central to the plot and it turns out they really weren't. My favorite part was... totally inconsequential minor spoiler )

Easy A
Emma Stone, Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Lisa Kudrow, Thomas Haden Church
I saw this sometime in the middle of the week. I'm so glad that Emma Stone did Zombieland because now she's getting lead roles like this one. It was cute, funny, and everything I thought it would be and more. Just a perfect night at the movies. I still hate Amanda Bynes though.

Paper Man
Emma Stone, Jeff Daniels, Ryan Reynolds, Lisa Kudrow, Kieran Culkin
This was a quiet, strange, and heartwarming little indie movie. I was extremely skeptical at first. Ryan Reynolds in a superhero costume -- enough said. But it's really not about that -- as much as it might seem like it. It's just a really special film and it won me over in a big way. Easily the best movie I've seen in a while. But then again I'm a strange one. Here's the trailer:

I may share this one later. Remind me!

The Disappearance of Alice Creed
Gemma Arterton, Eddie Marsan, Martin Compston
Disappointing. I liked the end but, overall disappointing. I remember this movie having a lot of hype around it and it just didn't live up to any of it really. Maybe I was expecting something different or maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind but I found myself a little disappointed that I wasted the time watching it when all was said and done.

Our Family Wedding
America Ferrera, Lance Gross, Forrest Whitaker, Regina King, Carlos Mencia
Okay -- I'll be honest. I expected this to be awful. So I was okay with how it ended up. There's not really anything special about it but I watched it for America Ferrera pretty much exclusively. She's one of my faves. And it was worth the watch even if it was a little bland and generic. Sweet, though.

Wild Target
Emily Blunt, Rupert Grint, Bill Nighy
Hilarious. Adorable. Quirky. Emily Blunt is just totally charming and perfect in it. The whole cast is really great actually. I would say there are only one or two things I'd change about the movie. For the most part it was a satisfying and pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. Highly recommended!
