Hello Killing flisties!

There have to be at least 11 of you.

So yeah I don't even think I needed to do the poll. I am totally doing the killing fic meme thing. I think I'll post in on Thursday of this week just to give people ample time to write if they're feeling it. That'll be just over 3 weeks until SEASON 3! You guys. We're getting a season three! I AM SO STOKED. *hyperventilates*

Okay. Geez, KC. Calm down.

Has anyone else read Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick?

I enjoyed the movie well enough and have actually heard a lot of great things about the book, so I bought it on kindle... because it was cheap, frankly. I then later regretted purchasing it. (Despite its cheapness) Because I kind of forgot (or chose to ignore?) that I usually LOATHE fiction (or thinly-veiled autobiographies) written by (usually white) men, about (usually white) men who are depressed, despondent, usually either single/divorced/in a failing marriage, middle-aged (or close to it) and who have daddy issues. I just.... blech. The plight of the unsatisfied-with-life middle-aged white man! NOT MY FAVORITE THING EVER. I usually can't get past the first couple of chapters if that's the picture I'm being given.

But this is different. The writer gives Pat such a unique, almost child-like, very stream-of-consciousness style voice. I am actually loving it so far. (CONFESSIONAL: It doesn't hurt that the chapters are short and I fly right through them.) Obviously I already know how it ends. In this case that's not helping or hurting. But yeah... so much better than I anticipated after the "crap, I totally paid for this book" remorse set in.
