Title: Departure
Fandom - Characters: LOST - Richard/Alex
Rating: PG
Prompt: Ocean
Summary/Notes: He’s no one’s reason. Future fic. Drabble. Sequel to like some junkyard dog.

It’s late afternoon when she finds him standing high on his hill, looking down across the waves below, his pack at his side, unmoving. Like always.

"They’ve come back for us," she says, though she knows it doesn’t matter.

He could always leave.

"For you," he corrects her, because he’s no one’s cause, no one’s reason.

The distance dissolves between them, her lips at his salty throat, a need she never expected.

He was a pawn.

"Come with me?" The words are hollow because she knows he won’t, his eyes cast ever seaward, waiting for something else.

But not this.

I love how you have continued off of your previous stories, keeping things in the same verse. It's easier to follow that way, and it makes it all the more involving.

For you, he corrects her, because he’s no one’s cause, no one’s reason.

I love that line like you have no idea. It's so perfect.

Great job, you always leave me wanting more.

Hee! Thank you. I'm really loving working with these two and this 'verse. It totally comes from my desire, nay, NEED, to know what Richard is all about. We've seen so little of him and it's just, ahhh. It boggles.

Thank you!!! :D

Just what I needed to read! *huge, soppy grin*

Come with me? The words are hollow because she knows he won’t, his eyes cast ever seaward, waiting for something else.

But not this

Those lines were almost heart stoppingly tragic, so beautiful. I don't really know what else to say, you have rendered me speechless so I shall go back to typing up my sad, little attempt at Alex/Richard.

I loved it!

Haha, well I think she could be in a position of power if she wanted to be, And she was taught by a master of deception. Of course she'd use it for the greater good.

Anyway, thanks for your comments!

catching up on the [livejournal.com profile] lost_fic_awards and it's a great drabble... you are one of the only author I know that writes Richard, and you do it so well... even in so few words...

Well thank you so much. I'm so intrigued by Richard that I just had to write him. I know I've probably said that 100 times, but part of why I like Richard and writing him is because he is such an enigma. It's very alluring and makes me want to know so much more about his character. But it's funny because he's so unassuming, that he almost seems a little more human than the rest of the others? You know?

Anyway, thank you once again for the compliment! :D

Found it :)

I'm very impressed by how you manage to write Richard so well, even though you don't use a lot of words. It's all about the athmosphere and I really like what you've created here.

"because he's no one's cause, no one's reason."
He's very special, isn't he. And I'm just so intrigued with this man. Oh, the Awesomeness of him.

Great job!

Sorry about the other link, I was sure it was right. Anyway I was at work so I couldn't correct it just then. Glad you found it!

He is so special! I want to write more Richard now, lol. I've really written so little of him. It's sad!

Thank you!
