Dear Festividder!

Dear Festividder,
Oh my gosh, you're my mystery vidder! *bounces* First, I want to say thank you, and I'm so excited you're here!
Overall I'm looking for ensemble. I think most of my requests are pretty much that. (Except for The Pacific, as you'll see below.) But I want you to make something you can be proud of, so feel free to ignore everything here!
General Likes/Dislikes
Vids: I have a wide variety of likes when it comes to vids. I can do without most canon shipper vids I guess, but my favorite types of vids are ensemble vids, character studies, multi-fandom vids, constructed reality vids, and meta vids. (I love meta!)
Music Likes: Again I have a wide variety of musical tastes. My current (and possibly forever) favorites include (but are not limited to):
So given, that; use anything with a cinematic feel or beat to it, good vocals, interesting lyrics, or even just something fun or unique*. [I find hip-hop and rap can be awesome when used cleverly or ironically in vids.]
*What do I mean by unique? Some combination of strange and wonderful? For example Martina, a Veronica Mars vid by Keewick uses what I would call very different "music" incredibly well. So feel free to try new things and be experimental, cause I'm down with it!
Music Dislikes: At the risk of sounding negative, please no Lady Gaga, R&B, or emo-punk. What is emo-punk anyway? Let's just say I'm down with Weezer and Green Day but definitely not with Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, or My Chemical Romance, and others of their ilk. Modern radio-play country isn't my favorite -- but indie, folksy, or old country (like Patsy Cline or bluegrass) is a thumbs up. Screamo or death metal, please no. Sappy ballads as well [especially of the modern country variety] unless they include the aforementioned "cinematic" sound to it. I'm not a huge fan of pop, but like rap, when used cleverly or ironically it can really work.
I think I'm being "overly helpful" when it comes to music. Feel free to ignore the majority of that if it confuses you!
Requests
Eastwick [TV], Jericho - 2006 [TV], Life Unexpected [TV], My So-Called Life [TV], MythBusters [TV], The Pacific [TV], Scream trilogy [Movies], Where the Heart Is - 2000 [Movie]
Eastwick, Jericho, Life Unexpected, My So-Called Life
For these shows I really just want something ensemble. Recruiter vids, fun vids, etc. Anything that exhibits all aspects of these shows. Music: For My So-Called Life it would be cool to use any of the music that was used in the show. For Eastwick, something witchy could be fun. (Or whatever.)
Mythbusters
My request for this can be summed up in one sentence: Just make 'em look cool. I would love it if the focus was all encompassing, the entire cast, the science, the funny, explosions, freak-outs, geekery, mistakes, silliness, victories, etc.
Scream trilogy
I am so excited for the new movie that's coming out and I would love something on this series. All of the movies or maybe even just the first one. Something fun, spooky, action or character-oriented or all of the above.
Where the Heart Is
Probably one of my favorite "chick flicks" -- I would love anything you could come up with for this. Something poignant maybe -- something that touches on all of the women in the story.
The Pacific
If you can, I'd love for this to be ensemble with a bit of an exception. First and foremost, I would love a video that focuses soley on Leckie's group, including Phillips, Vera, and Stella. [Also, just FYI, I love Chuckler!] I could also handle including Basilone and his story as part of an ensemble vid or even by himself. Then again, if you want to focus the vid just on the character of Leckie, I would not mind that one bit -- in fact I would encourage it. The caveat: Unfortunately I never really warmed to Sledge's group so if you could leave him and them completely out of it I would be ever so grateful.
TREATS!
Apparently anyone, even folks who are not signed up for festivids, are free to leave me treats as well! (This is a new concept, I wasn't aware of until I read this! But it makes me super happy!) Treats are due to
festivids on January 22nd 2011!
