I just spent well over an hour (two?) catching up on all of the "eljay goes apeshit and deletes craploads of fandom comms because vigilante assholes can't tell the difference between real and fake" drama.

And really? That pretty much sums it up.

I myself, only had two interests listed:
Jawyercita and everydamnthing.

I reluctantly removed Jawyercita, though I'm not sure it matters, and added free speech, which has been suggested at several different places. My thoughts on this are pretty much "buzzah?"

There will always be a place for free speech. There will always be another place somewhere in the electric ether to run to. But fuck if it doesn't suck ass that it's this place, livejournal, which is for the most part, irreplaceable. The networking, the comms, the system itself is unparallel. Everyone is threatening to leave and some are being forced out and that's just, well it's fucked is what it is.

I really fucking hope they get their act together and fix this.

Heard murmurings a few days ago. Thought it had been debunked. I guess yesterday or today, LJ permanently suspended a crapload of journals and that's when everyone realized these were more than empty threats and unsubstantiated rumors.
