Supernatural 3x04 - Sin City
So here's a theory...
Ruby is Lucifer.
Why bring up the mythology if it wasn't important to the storyline? She called herself a fallen angel, which is exactly what Lucifer is. And that fact, I believe was also stated in the episode tonight.
And what better way to get Sam to embrace his dark side and take his place as leader of the demon army than to get him to do a bunch of evil deeds in the name of saving his brother?
(ETA) And if she is the fallen angel in question, she'd totally be able to get Dean out of his deal.
I have some more, less coherent thoughts on this that I might try to pull together for an ETA at a later time.
Just food for thought!
And also! No BSG until April? What the frak? Summer!?!?!

Ooh ... interesting possibility. And yes, she's busy handing those Good Intentions pavingstones to Sam.

And somehow, despite being an irrational Sam girl, I'd still like to see her
fuck himpush him into doing crazy, crazy things. I don't know why the idea appeals to me so much.Maybe because it would be awfully cool to think of Sam being so important and so potentially powerful. *ponders* :)

I hadn't thought about that, but you bring up a good point!!

Yeah, I absolutely agree.
It would definitely be interesting if it's true and the boys figure it out.
Also, in addition to your theory, if she is Lucifer, she'd have no trouble breaking Dean's deal...but at what cost to Sam??

And YAY for twin theories. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

But I like this theory. It's pretty sensible.

I have to wonder exactly what she's going to have Sam to do. When Sam said he didn't have to like it, she said he wouldn't be Sam if he didn't. I think maybe there's something to that. Because Dean said Sam was "cold" when he shot the two demons. Maybe that's the point. What would he do to save Dean? Given what Ruby said tonight, I'm kinda afraid of the answer to that question.
And I just babbled for a paragraph. Nevermind me. I'm just thinking outloud.

But if she is Lucifer, why would she/he(?) need to take Sam's place. Wouldn't she already be the leader? *thinks* It's an interesting theory, I went a different way in my review, but either way Ruby rox. ;)

Also? Can I just add that the gem ruby also symbolizes divine power and royalty? And that other names for it are pigeon's blood and lamp-stone. LAMPSTONE. LAMP. LIGHT. I MEAN.
