So here's a theory...

Ruby is Lucifer.

Why bring up the mythology if it wasn't important to the storyline? She called herself a fallen angel, which is exactly what Lucifer is. And that fact, I believe was also stated in the episode tonight.

And what better way to get Sam to embrace his dark side and take his place as leader of the demon army than to get him to do a bunch of evil deeds in the name of saving his brother?

(ETA) And if she is the fallen angel in question, she'd totally be able to get Dean out of his deal.

I have some more, less coherent thoughts on this that I might try to pull together for an ETA at a later time.

Just food for thought!

And also! No BSG until April? What the frak? Summer!?!?!

Hmmm. Interesting theory. I had the same thought when she said "fallen angel". And you certainly bring up a good point in that they wouldn't bring up mythology like what Casey got into in the same episode if there wasn't some kind of connection.

I have to wonder exactly what she's going to have Sam to do. When Sam said he didn't have to like it, she said he wouldn't be Sam if he didn't. I think maybe there's something to that. Because Dean said Sam was "cold" when he shot the two demons. Maybe that's the point. What would he do to save Dean? Given what Ruby said tonight, I'm kinda afraid of the answer to that question.

And I just babbled for a paragraph. Nevermind me. I'm just thinking outloud.

No, please! Babble away! I'm just as curious to find out the answer to that question as you are!
