I still can't believe it. Just last weekend I was looking up his review of The Grey. And he said that the film moved him so much that he left the theatre of a second film that day because The Grey had stayed so with him and it wouldn't be fair to the second film to view it then.
I miss him. I still miss Gene Siskel. I grew up with them, so many movie reviews! And we still had Roger through that pen. The love he poured into his writing we received and were thankful for.
And just like that he's gone and no more reviews and no more thumbs up again ever. Sometimes you get to a point where you realize, life really is finite, limited. When you're young everyone is young with you, it seems. But now . . .
I don't even know where to go to look up reviews I trust anymore. Such a big lost to entertainment and film. But I'm so glad we did have him while we did.
