C'mere, Lost. I'm not gonna hurt you. I'm just gonna kick you in the head!

Noo! Alex! *cries* What the fuck? And Penny? And Nadia? And why is this show all about Ben now? I just I don't know if I care that much about him. And I never really have.

Sawyer kicked major ass this ep. Saving Claire and standing up for Hurley and just being a big damn hero running through that yard and gunslinging and all. It makes me so happy. And not to mention, the dominoes for one of my favorite pairings, sawyer/claire, are falling into place quite nicely. I cannot believe they were just going to leave her to die. Motherfrakkers.

I know I said it already but... Alex! And he just shot her! And! She was dead! And! Oh my fucking GOD! And we even got future!back confirmation that she is indeed dead! (As if there were any question after that goodbye.) And the last words she hears are the man that she knows as father say that she means nothing to him and that she's just a pawn? Harsh! I just. *shake-ah!* *shake-ah!* Lost! Poor Alex. May she rest in peace and live on in fic.

Claire's wig is making me crazy! They couldn't have found time to fit in a "we're cutting hair!" scene in otherville? Damn. Or maybe even have it magically singed off in the explosion?

Speaking of the explosion! Hurley! Throwing the furniture through the window! Yay!

And what the hell? Why are they all still protecting Ben? Thank the lord Sawyer has finally seen the light. Both Ben and Locke are total nutjobs and the farther away everybody is from them the better. (Unless you're Hurley, in which case you'll be playing basketball in your bathrobe back on the mainland in no time.)

And how much do I not care that the smoke monster is at Ben's beck and call?

WTF DAN? Why all the lies? I want to LIKE YOU!

Sayid looked pretty in his flashback duds.

And I loved it when Miles was like "I think I'll stay with you guys for now." Ya think? And Sawyer with his "you harm one hair on his curly head and I'll kill you." Aww.

Conmama! \o/!

Yep, I gotta agree on most every point. Most of all about Alex (the hell? so lame) and Sawyer's utter awesomeness and Sayid bein pretty--and Hurley being so cool! OK, I agree a lot! --Only with less caring 'cause I gave up on this show ages ago (or last season. Felt like it was years ago) and I only watched it tonight 'cause I had nothing better to do...

Oooh, but I did love the start of the ep when they were playing Risk--I SO called it before they showed the game! Heheh! I love being right. (And my brother called what's wrong with Jack, but I don't wanna spoil the preview for anyone who hasn't seen....)

Yeah I totally figured they were playing a game in that opening scene too but I didn't think of risk.

I'm very much a fair-weather fan. I like it for a couple episodes and then a few episodes will be totally vanilla/infuriating (and not in the good way.) So I do still watch it and I like to participate in fandom but... I'm sort of... disengaged? I dunno.

Heroic Sawyer was definitely the highpoint of this episode. I echo all your thoughts about how wrong it was that Alex was killed, especially the manner in which it happened.

Agreed. And agreed.

It just cements my hatred for Ben. And I don't see how people can sympathize with him after that. The look on his face? I mean you just told the guy she meant nothing to you, what did you expect? He's such a coward.

Please do not get me wrong. I love Michael Emerson. I think he's done an amazing job with this loathsome character, but more and more he's really just becoming a catch all for the show.

Ben is the beginning and ending of everything. And it feels false. Unless he's like a superhero or something, I don't buy it.

He's had so many different cons going all at the same time and it's impossible to tell where one begins and where one ends and it just bugs me.

Jack has appendicitis? I'm sure it's Ben's fault somehow, but he'll make it seem like someone else's fault, but then he's just kidding, and he'll say that he did it for the greater good, and in fact it's just a clever ruse to cover up for this other thing he did but didn't do and in fact someone else did WIDMORE! Etc.etc.etc. Just... Grrr.

Wow you so didn't ask for that.

Agreed.

I prefer Ben in small doses. I could totally see him controlling his people in their little sheltered cult with his "greater good" crap but being awkward in the real world. Making him the mastermind of everything on and off island is hard to buy, especially this James Bond turn of his.

It's quite possible he is responsible for Jack's sore tummy. It wouldn't surprise me if anyone who spent time with the Others has a little sick chip in them a la Claire.

Oh, I totally agree. That would make a lot of sense. But this whole superhero/spy/martial arts expert/sniper/ninja thing just doesn't fly with me.

I can't believe they really killed her. That fucking sucks, dude. ;_; I'm no fan of Ben's, but I couldn't not cry when he was standing over her body.

I certainly hope something comes of Claire and Sawyer on their trek back to the beach. I like the idea, a lot. I know some people who wouldn't be very happy about it, but, well, I ain't one of them. ;)

I dunno I can't really feel sympathy for him. I truly believe that if he wasn't such a coward he could have saved her. In that moment it was a choice between his freedom and her life and he chose selfishly. For that, I can't feel sorry for him.

Re: Sawyer/Claire. I'd be sublimely happy with that! :D

Yeah, Sawyer is DEFINITELY the one thinking the clearest here. He was the only one who went to save Claire, and then broke the damn WINDOW to make sure he got her safe. It's wonderful.

RIP Alex indeed. I cried. I really did. It was awful to see her go out that way, although someone on a different board pointed out that at least, if Rousseau is really dead, they don't have to live without the other one. And I can try to take a little comfort in that. But only a little. Ben's a cold bastard...

Also, stay away from Penny. Stay away. Your fault Alex is dead, Ben, leave Penny alone.

I'm hoping that Danielle comes back and exacts vengeance or something. Maybe in a future!future!back. LOL.

Right yeah. It is his fault! Why would he go after Penny? Ugh. Someone just SHOOT HIM ALREADY!

Oooh, I respectfully disagree about Alex's death being WTF. I think it was brilliantly done. For the reasons selenak posts about here: http://selenak.livejournal.com/379676.html

ITA about Sawyer. I'd forgotten the Sawyer awesome for a minute while I flailed about all the Ben awesome, but yes.

Sawyer's character arc has been totally believeable, I think, and last night's episode showed that in very little screentime. It showcased his badassness (I usually don't think he's hot, but I was ALL ABOUT his whipping that gun on Locke. I was like "what was that? Did I just feel a pang of lust about Sawyer?") AND (even better) his love for his friend Hurley and his role as a leader in his own right.

Well it was well done because it was WTF though. I really liked her character (better than many others who have passed before her, sad to say). But yeah I agree it was well executed (pardon the pun), but it was still, "holy crap, really?" Regarding my disbelief anyway.

Haha, I wasn't always a Sawyer fan. And I used to think that... maybe end of season 2? Beginning of s3? He was sort of inconsistent? Like the writers didn't know what they were doing with him (or hadn't watched the episodes prior or something?) But he really evened out last season and this season (though we've seen little of him) they've kept him pretty even. You know he's still Sawyer but his arc has really been believable. And for that I am truly grateful because honestly? I don't believe you can say that for probably 95% of the rest of the characters. He's probably their most successful as far as that goes. Sad to say. So right now and probably in large part because of that I'm extremely protective of his character in a "if he dies I will be so pissed kind of way."

You're right that Sawyer's character did falter for a little while, but yeah, I mean recently. Dang he was hot last night.

Yeah, and it was well done because it was WTF. ITA. I thought you meant it was BadWTF. But if you mean it was GoodWTF, then I am with you on that! Because as Ben said: they broke the rules. :D

I actually liked that ep!

Sucks about Alex and it totally was harsh but she was never a major character for me. Though I feel your pain dude, and at least she's with her mother and Karl!?!?

Sawyer and Hurley totally kicked ass! And ZOMG Sawyer's protectiveness over him and Claire! You know, I think you might have to kick Jack out of Jawyercita in favour of Hurley! Surleycita?

haha, Claire's wig though seriously WTF??? With you there.

Hahaha, yeah no I'm bummed but I'm not pissed. I mean, I loved her and they probably could do a lot with her but they weren't using her in a way that was really fascinating anyway. So I'd just as soon keep her in fic. I was more shocked than anything.

Surleycita! Hehehe! Omg you might be on to something!

Thank god I'm not the only one bugged by the wig. MAKE IT STOP!
