For me it's a fun/not!serious show with some really like-able characters.
Actually the reason I think I like Ronon/Sheppard so much (apart from the obvious, hello!) is that the potential for angst is so much greater. Ronon's got quite a dark past and he practically worships Sheppard! But you'll have to get through season 1 before you learn any of this.
