→ I am so excited about Pushing Daisies tonight. You have no idea. (Or maybe you do.) I think I have had this icon set as my default for weeks. That's how frakking excited I am for this show to come back. The other day I was talking to
falseeeyelashes briefly in comments and we were talking about Lost in Austen and she says that it makes her feel cozy and I thought it was perfect, and a perfect way to describe how Pushing Daisies makes me feel. Just... wonderful and a little sad sometimes too but it's the sweet kind of sad not the "heart ripped out" kind of sad. Anyway, I cannot wait. Even though I'll have to. Working sucks, but DVRs are better! *grin*
→ I didn't say much about this week's TrueBlood, so here goes:
Jason needs to either stop being annoying or stop hogging up so much screen time. Someone please tell me he is the next to die? I have absolutely no patience with that character.
However, I get now why Tara does. That flashback was really nice to see. Too bad Jason didn't grow up to be the grown-up version of the little gentleman he used to be. Maybe there is hope for him yet, but I somehow doubt it. But Tara? We loves her, precious. Even more now.
Also, Sam. Okay so he's so totally a dog. (The good kind?) No disputing it now. And I'm sorry, I'm a little bit in love with his character. It seems like the small amount of fandom I've come across is obsessed with Bill and that long-haired freaky dude Eric. Well they can have them both, because Sam is hands-down my favorite.
Sookie? Bill is right! I would have stopped at Target and bought you a sweater, girl!
Bill? What was up with all that creepy glamour mojo with the cop? So totally not necessary at all. There was no real danger. And Sookie looked pretty displeased with him as well. Bill's seeming more and more like the guy you want to be good, but is actually bad. Because I do want him to be good. Very much so. But can we say creepy? Why yes, I think we can.
Eric. I don't find him attractive and I hope I'm not supposed to. But the whole "you noticed him, everybody does" conversation and the way that fangbanger was gonna throw himself at him makes me think I am supposed to. But since he had like three whole lines of dialogue give or take, I can't really judge him as a character yet.

Date: 2008-10-01 10:47 pm (UTC)Yay Sam and Yay Tara! Hahaha Jason needs to just die lol
And yes, omg sookie's outfit! she totally looked like vampire bait! You'd think little Ms. Christian would have chosen something a tad more subtle.
Eric, no thanks.
Oh shoot I haven't thought of my word yet. Hang on I'll be back with a picture :)
Herrrre we go:

Date: 2008-10-01 10:50 pm (UTC)That is the perfect way to describe PD. I cannot wait. I'm so excited for the show to come back. I haven't looked forward to any other show the way I'm looking forward to this one.

Date: 2008-10-01 11:06 pm (UTC)And part of it is obviously because it is so totally one of the most happy-making shows to ever exist!

Date: 2008-10-01 10:56 pm (UTC)(And, um, not to spoil but the Sookie/Bill 'shipping in fandom makes me LOL a little.)
Sam is so awesome. There are things from the books that make me a little, shall we say, cool about him, but he's great on the show. *hearts* I may go on and on about Eric, but hands down I'd take Sam if I were Sookie.
Tara is way cool and I don't even remember her from the books so they must be doing something right. (Wish Jason would DIAF, yes.)
PUSHING DAISIES!!!! My icon says it all. :D

Date: 2008-10-01 11:11 pm (UTC)Yeah I've heard people saying that Tara isn't in the books.
Re: Eric. I'll take your word for it character-wise. I don't even know who the actor is but from what I've seen in the small bit he was in so far, there's not a switch of mine he could flip. Hahaha.

Date: 2008-10-01 11:21 pm (UTC)Hah! That explains that. (You'd think I'd look that up, but nooo, for I am lazy.)
Well, to each their own. He's not like one of my all-time favorites, but totally my #1 from the books. And I know Alexander Skarsgård from Generation Kill which is AWESOME (for those who like war stuff.) I hope they do a better job with his later stuff than what we've seen.
But Sam? I am SO loving him on the show, it's crazy. :D I'm quite happy loving them both.

Date: 2008-10-01 11:24 pm (UTC)I don't mean the character I just meant the actor. The character could turn out to be totally awesome. I will have to wait and see.
I wanted to watch Generation Kill actually but never got a chance. I should see about doing that...

Date: 2008-10-01 11:33 pm (UTC)Ah, okay.
It's great; I didn't think I'd love it as much as I do but, man I can't even explain how awesome it is. ♥

Date: 2008-10-01 11:37 pm (UTC)Yeah everyone on my flist who's watched it has said it's pretty much amazing. I had been digging on this song for a while and then saw the preview for Generation Kill and that was the theme song (at least in the preview?) and I was like "HEY I gotta watch that." But I still haven't. I suck at follow through.

Date: 2008-10-02 02:18 am (UTC)Yeah, that does make sense. (And I should know, working with dogs all the time--though most of mine need to stand with their noses to the ground without moving for ages when they find something good.)
It's just the promo song, the show doesn't really have a "theme song" (though the characters DO sing a lot, heh!) Damn, now I wanna go flip through the eps and watch my favorite bits...AGAIN. :D

Date: 2008-10-01 11:29 pm (UTC)Tara's flashback helped me understand her a lot better. The poor girl still sees Jason as that awesome little kid, and maybe she is right that he really is a good person deep down. *crosses fingers for her* Tara rocks, so if she has hope for him I do too.
Sam is making me fall more in love with him on the show than I ever did in the books. I'm not indifferent to him in the books, but I viewed him as Sookie's Xander: loyal and smitten and will never, ever have her though he probably should.
Bill? What was up with all that creepy glamour mojo with the cop? So totally not necessary at all.
I agree, not necessary. It was so not necessary that it didn't happen in the book. Sookie just spoke with the nice officer and they were on the way. It was sorta creepily hot though. *shrugs*
And yes, you are supposed to find Eric attractive, though I have to admit he isn't really presenting himself all that well yet. On the other hand, I think they got the right guy considering how I pictured him in the book. If it helps, Eric is very much Spike to Bill's Angel: he's fun and funny and hot and he gets Sookie in a way that no one else really understands. Ok, no more Eric cheerleading, I promise. :D
And the Pie Maker is back! YAY!
