→ I've been watching Legend of the Seeker for the past two weeks and am finally all caught up. Though I did just find out there's two weeks until the next episode so that's a bummer. I should have watched the episodes a little more slowly. Anyway, I would definitely recommend it. I'm going to have to get some icons or something. Haven't really joined the fandom yet due to trying to avoid spoilers. And here's a pretty, pretty picspam of the opening scene of the pilot by
ohvienna.
→ Lost, lost, lost. I am lost. And, is this a spoiler? Despite the presence of two of my favorite people, I really hated the last episode. Exponentially. I am so, so tired of this season I could puke. At this point, I am only watching out of habit/fandom/personal obligations. The little things that annoy me don't just go away because a new episode airs. They only serve to annoy me more as time goes on. In short: Dear Lost Writers, if you can't add/subtract/tell time, try to avoid writing about time travel, dumbasses.
→ I watched Harper's Island last night. I really like the idea of a self-contained single season. Plus I figured I would enjoy the mystery novel "who-dun-it" premise. It served that purpose. Like I told
sol_se, I wasn't expecting brilliant, just murder-mystery fun. I'll watch again next week. I'm looking forward to the characters' awareness that something is awry. Things will probably get a lot more interesting once the panic sets in.
→ There were a lot of premieres this week for being April, weren't there? I didn't watch Southland or The Unusuals. Though both look pretty decent actually. I read a review that said they blank out swear-words on Southland. Hah. I wonder if the DVDs will have the un-bleeped version?
→ Did I mention I also finished this season of Big Love? Well I did, and I loved it. I really liked Come, Ye Saints especially. The scene in the back of the car with Wayne and Raymond, hilarious. It's about time they gave those kids something to do. But yeah, this show just gets better and better. When is season four? Soon, I hope. /wishful thinking.
→ I am still not caught up with Friday Night Lights. I have no idea why. Maybe I will wait for the DVDs to get caught up. I heard it's been renewed again. My thoughts on that are mixed. First, I'm happy that such a great show is being renewed. But I probably won't be watching for the long haul. The fact that it's been said that Tyra and Lyla will be leaving just makes me annoyed. That's four of our original cast members gone. I am really not interested in watching the high school version of ER. If our main characters were a band of teachers and administrators (instead of one coach and one principal) I probably would have no problem with the students moving on. But that's not what this show is about.
→ Why is this entire post about TV? ANSWER:
crickets waits too long to post about stuff so by the time she does there's a million things in the queue. I would promise not to do that anymore, but I can't be sure I'd keep it.

I really kind of think FNL should have ended where it did. It feels like time. I read Tyra and Lyla will have "goodbye arcs" like Smash and Jason, and I felt like those took up so much time this season and dragged things out. But what else would they do? Add more new characters? Doing that should work, but it just doesn't seem to.

Date: 2009-04-10 11:27 pm (UTC)I've been liking Lost ok this season. I still get confused on how it's all gonna work out but the writers were so good for the first 4 seasons I trust them to resolve it by the series finale.
Southland was a nice fresh cop show, imo. I really liked it.

And RE: Lost, I don't know I've just been so annoyed with this season. When the plot got stupid before at least we had the characters. But they've fucked them up even worse this season. All the time jumping with absolutely no character development -- they're like puppets -- same skin, different person, and not done in a realistic way at all, IMO. So yeah, I'm kind of over it.

Date: 2009-04-11 02:23 am (UTC)I downloaded The Unusuals, but have put off watching it, since I haven't really had a chance to hear whether it's worth a try or not. Might watch it tonight regardless.

Date: 2009-04-11 02:36 am (UTC)I dunno was reading some review that it wasn't so great. I think it might have been the Southland review I read, they made an offhanded comment on how Southland is actually good unlike The Unusuals? I dunno. I think the only way to really tell is just to watch. lol.

Date: 2009-04-11 11:31 am (UTC)I'm also done with this season of Lost. Really. I want it to be over now before it continues killing me with boredom. I've actually liked two episodes this season and out of totally biased reasons.

Date: 2009-04-11 04:42 pm (UTC)I want it to be over too. I love Richard but every time he is on screen I get nervous they are going to FUCK HIM HIM.
Blech, SHOW.
