Name a fandom, and I'll give you the scoop on at least three of my unpopular opinions related to that fandom.
I swear I will try to think of new ones. (I'm sure I'll be able to come up with some!)

Date: 2009-06-23 10:45 pm (UTC)ONE. Your icon. I love Jessica so far. It seems like she's not a welcome addition to the cast for a lot of people but I think she's fantastic. Maybe if I was more invested in the whole Sookie/Bill thing I would probably dislike her more since she's an obstacle right now. But I think the actress is likeable and really fabulous and the character amuses me quite a bit.
TWO. I don't really ship Sookie with Bill or Eric. In fact I'm not entirely sure I ship her with Sam. I do however ship her with someone named Alcide from the books. But I'm not all the way through so that might (probably will?) change. And based on my search for fic involving him, I'm fairly alone there. SAD.
THREE. This one is pretty well known. Eric. I appreciate the new haircut. But I don't get the attraction to him at all. As a character or even as an actor. I'm sorry, but no. Is it the muscles? It's gotta be the muscles right? That's the only thing I can figure. Otherwise I'm stumped as to why he's so damn popular. That being said, I'm willing to learn to appreciate the character for the sake of the story. It looks like we're going to get more than the FIVE WHOLE MINUTES we got of him last season. (Unfortunately.)

Date: 2009-06-23 10:59 pm (UTC)1.) I adore Jessica. She's bratty yes but she's still a young girl who had something very traumatic happen to her. I'm growing a little tired of the Sookie/Bill show so I'm interested in how she's goiong to effect their relationship.
2.) I love Alcide. He was one of my favorite characters in the books. And for a while I totally shipped them. But I think you already know that I ship Sookie/Eric
3.) I'm just going to say that I respect your opinion :D

Date: 2009-06-23 11:08 pm (UTC)And to be honest, there were times when Roslin downright irritated me. And not even solely in her actions but even just her mannerisms. Which, I guess that's more Mary's acting than Roslin herself? I don't know. That being said, for most of the series I cared for her character and was sad to see her go in the end.
TWO. I don't ship either Lee/Kara or Roslin/Adama. I may have appreciated those representations in canon. But when it came to fanon, it's Snoresville for me.
THREE. If I see one more arbitrary Gaeta/Someone-with-a-cock pairing, I am going to cry. I don't understand why he gets shipped with fucking every male character, from the principles to anyone to ever have a walk-on non-speaking role, just because he's canonically gay. It makes me bonkers.
(And I absolutely 100% advocate for more m/m slash in this show! It just feels too easy/cheap with Gaeta. Maybe that's why I don't like it.)

Date: 2009-06-23 11:25 pm (UTC)TWO. I don't really love either of the main two pairings, Meredith and Derek or Alex and Izzie. I think they can be cute, angsty, sweet, annoying, etc. I.E. they can be compelling and human to watch. But those couples are probably the last reason I watch the show. But since I think this show is fantastic all around, being the last doesn't necessarily indicate a terrible loss of love.
THREE. I don't know! I haven't participated in this fandom enough to know. Maybe... I really really like Arizona? Is that unpopular?

Date: 2009-06-23 11:28 pm (UTC)ONE. Maybe it's the actor's chameleon-like capabilities, but I really like Shane. I think he has great potential and if this show was long enough I'd be interested to see his journey and how he would relate to the rest of the characters (should they all stay in touch or... whatever.)
TWO. The revelation in the last episode was a TOTAL FUCKING LET-DOWN. But damn I still am loving this show despite that. (I also totally believe my theory more and more.)
THREE. I LOVE THIS SHOW. Not many people do. That makes it unpopular right?

Date: 2009-06-24 03:24 am (UTC)TWO. I didn't love Jaynetown as much as everyone else seemed to. There are parts of it that are really funny but otherwise it's just an OK episode.
THREE. I was pissed more about Book dying than Wash. Yes I loved Wash, but Book had so much mystery. We never found out who he really was. Of course, whenever a character dies at the end of a series or something, I can never manage to get too broken up anyway because it's not like we have to "go on without them" so to speak.

Date: 2009-06-24 03:40 am (UTC)ONE. I hate Juliet. And people love the crap out of her. And the more they love her, the more I hate her. I pretty much think that Elizabeth Mitchell isn't such a great actress and this is a big part of the reason why. I have never been moved by a single performance because sure, she GOES THERE, but it never comes across as anything but FAKE to me. (And I love her in interviews, she's truly adorable.)
TWO. I don't really ship any of the main pairings. My biggest ship in that fandom is Jack/Claire and Richard/Alex. Second to Jack/Sawyer/Claire and Richard/Jacob. At the moment. And then there's Sun/Jack, Claire/Sawyer and Jack/Sawyer. So yeah. I'm... weird?
THREE. I don't hate Kate. I don't particularly love her either. I don't understand why she's worthy of such disdain. Any of her weird character continuity I just chalk up to shitty Lost writing just like I do with all of the weird character continuity that has touched practically every single other character on the show with the exception of very few. I don't see why Kate gets singled out.

Date: 2009-06-24 02:39 pm (UTC)TWO. The VERY Sci Fi bits of this show kind of bored me. The space fights and wraiths and crawling around in a hive ship etc.etc. These are the reasons that I haven't really enjoyed sci fi much until BSG came along. (Though I did watch Firefly.) I like the more human side of things, about relationships and moral decisions and the quirky characters, etc.
THREE. It took a long long time for Weir to grow on me. She did eventually to an extent but she was the last and the least endeared character to me.

Date: 2009-06-24 02:44 pm (UTC)ONE. I kind of wanted Ben/Margene to happen. Just an 'accidental' kiss even. They seem to keep picking up that storyline and then dropping it without explanation. Ever since season one and then again in season three. It feels very UNFINISHED.
TWO. I really really wanted Anna to work out because I loved the actress and the character. But I suppose that it's best for her that it didn't.
THREE. I can't think of any others to be honest. I love Joey. He's one of my favorite characters. I thought he had a thing for Barb in the past and that was okay with me. I don't know if that's unpopular though.

Date: 2009-06-24 02:48 pm (UTC)TWO. I do kind of ship RayK/Frannie though. She is totally funny and I wish there was more of her on the show.
THREE. I've... well... never seen seasons 1 & 2. That's not an unpopular OPINION per se, more of an unpopular FACT. Heheh.

I'll have to do that today and get back to you on both accounts.
Dollhouse
Date: 2009-06-27 02:30 pm (UTC)TWO. This show has kind of made me dislike Tahmoh. I don't wanna say it's ruined Helo for me, but I definitely feel a lot differently about him as an actor after this. And not in a good way. (But I'm not sure this is all that unpopular.)
THREE. There's this whole weird rivalry between Amy and Eliza and people in fandom thinking Amy should have been the lead instead of Eliza or... whatever. But to be honest, I am kind of over them both. I prefer the actresses who play Sierra and Adele. For some reason Amy and Eliza just seem like amatuers next to them. Sad, but true.
FOUR. I don't hate Topher. He's not my favorite either. And sure, he's mildly offensive. But I don't really get all the disdain he draws from the fandom. (I think he gets it because he's seen as the Joss-insert. And as I said above, there's a lot of Joss contempt. So... go figure.)
FIVE. I really love Boyd. I wish his role was as big as Paul's seems to be. I'm crossing my fingers that he takes more of a "front-burner" role next season. I'm actually really sad he's no longer Echo's handler. I would have liked to see that relationship develop more than we did.
I don't actually know how unpopular these opinions are, so I gave you a couple extras just in case.
