→ This has been the worst week ever. I mean the worst. The only thing that could make this week better would be for it to be over. Which won't technically work if the things that are making this week suck carry over into next week which is honestly looking like a very real possibility at this point.

→ I've been meaning to link you guys to this all week. One of my newest flisters, cielo_claro created this great fic prompt table over at truism100. The prompts are really incredible. If I were more ambitious with my writing these days I would have to claim something.

→ So, I'm still kind of watching So You Think You Can Dance.

The Boys
I loved him from the start, but this should have been Evan's week to go. These past few performances I just haven't felt he's done that well. I don't know why he wasn't at least in the bottom two. I feel like the other guys, Kupono included, are a little bit better at fluidly moving through the different dance styles. He is only really convincing in certain kinds of styles. If he has to step too far out of his own comfort zone, it doesn't really work.

I was sort of bummed about Kupono, but glad Ade didn't go. I really loved Kupono's solo this week too. That Paso Doble was so "what the fuck?" I don't agree with Nigel about the dancing not matching the choreography. If the choreography doesn't match the dancers it's just not going to work. And it did not. How many times do they make comments about how it's really the choreographer's duty to see their dancers' strengths and work with them instead of against them? This was a case of the opposite occuring. Especially with Randi. It made the entire dance klunky and painful to watch. I recall some Paso Dobles of the past (and on Dancing w/the Stars) and these two could have done a fine job with the style, but this choreography was really not doing them any favors. And the music didn't help either.

The Girls
Can't believe Melissa was in the bottom two but given the competition I'm sure I'm going to say that for anyone who's in the bottom two from here on out. It was definitely Randi's turn to go and she was so sweet about it too. Good girl.

Couples
I wasn't a fan of Jeanette (sp?) when she was with Brandon. Maybe they were flawless and supposedly fantastic, but until their last dance, they bored me! Thier numbers always felt so endless. (When is this going to be over?) But this week's routine with Jeanette and Ade was so awesome! I loved it. And I loved that we got to see a different side of Ade too. I think if I would have picked up the phone to vote, he would have been a top contender.

Jeanine and Jason's dance is what I have been missing about this show this season. That was memorable. So many of these dances have lacked the raw emotion that I've seen in the past. I can't pick out another single dance from this season that I'm going to remember at all. But this one I will.

I still don't have any stand-out favorites. Which makes it increasingly hard to forfeit the time each week to watch this show. But I think after seeing these new couples, I will have to tune in for yet one more week.

→ I'm not going to lie. It feels kind of weird cutting for spoilers for a talent show.

I dunno Brandon does well but he doesn't move me in any way that I care if he stays or goes. I think that's why the pairing of him and Janette fell kind flat for me (but their last performance was good like I said.)

I wonder if they'll do the same they did last year with Joshua and Katee where the winner was the top dancer of all and then the next top girl or boy still gets a prize.

If so, I would be happy with Ade or Jason being top for guys and for the girls it's a total toss-up.

I agree: it was Evan's time to go. But I guess that's what's problematic about turning over control to the viewers. I found myself strangely sad about Kupono. He's really grown on me the past 2 or 3 weeks.

I've been really enjoying Janette from the beginning, but yeah--Janette + Ade = :D

Jeanine and Jason's routine was so good. I still can't get over that. So much about this show has to do with having the right partner, the right chemistry. I'm sad that these two haven't been able to shine like this before--but glad they got to stay around long enough to do it!

Well even without audience control, now that it's bottom two they wouldn't have had a say anyway. I do think Kupono has grown, and he's always been likeable (I think) and so that just made it worse that he had to leave now. But I am very glad Ade didn't go.

I loved that routine. Have watched it a couple times since and it's just fabulous. There's such vulnerability to the dance and their emotions that it's almost uncomfortable to watch, like I feel like I shouldn't, but I can't stop. Haha. It's awkward, and I think for me that always makes a dance good for me. When you feel like you're invading just by watching. Seeing and feeling emotions that aren't meant for you.

I was also going to include something in my post about how it really helps if you've got a great partner to play off and how that really came across this week now that everyone's switched up. It's really quite interesting how that one dynamic changes so much.

I was really freaking depressed about Kupono leaving. He might not have been the best dancer, technique and strength wise, but he was a brilliant actor and carried off performances with more ease than Evan has ever managed outside of his style. Just. *hands* At least he'll be on the tour? And Mia loved him, I can imagine her helping him out a bit.

Ade hasn't ever really moved me, but I do admire his ability. I want to see him do more contemporary pieces, his solo was amazing!

Yeah Ade's solo was great, but so was Kupono's.
