And what the fuck is with tags not auto-populating
Okay, explain this to me. What now? Cause I'm confuzzled. I know the tagging system is different but I don't understand why everyone's up in arms. I think I'm missing something.
Well I literally JUST got the e-mail that says there's gonna be a drop-down menu when you start to type a tag. But I have one of the old LJ layouts so for me, there is no drop-down menu.
Grr! I don't want to change it. There's a search function that I use constantly that is not easily available in the other versions. For some inexplicable reason.
All I know is that this is the version I have used FOREVER and it keeps me from being at the mercy of LJ's constant changes.
Okay it took me forever to find it, but the one I have is called "XColibur." The only thing that has ever really changed on the main navigation part of the layout is that recently the menus at the top changed but it actually makes [some] things easier to find.
Entry tags are not autocompleting successfully on the Post an Entry page in Internet Explorer. Until this issue is resolved, you may wish either to manually complete your tags, or use an alternative browser. You can also add tags to your entries after they have been posted by using the Edit Tags link on each entry or by editing the entry.
I've been using the Select Tags box and just checking the ones I want.
I am using Firefox but I also use the XColibur site scheme. I wonder if there's anything about them eventually updating XColibur. If not I might just end up switching. Even though I really don't want to because I used the "interest" search at the top left far too often. You can get to the interest search another way with the default layout, but it's not a direct way, and as much as I use it it's going to be a pain in the ass.
I don't have strong feelings about the difference between the two...I don't have Firefox on my laptop, so I'm using Chrome for most things. It might be my layout that doesn't use the autopopulate, but I don't want to change my layout right now. :-)
Hmm I have Chrome on here and tried it in that [with the default scheme] and that seems to work. Perhaps I'll just switch. I don't know. I really like XColibur and it's been the way I've used LJ since forever. I think the one time LJ tried to force a change on me I immediately sought out my flist.
Question. Do you prefer Chrome or Firefox? I have been using Chrome for that food log thing [Which I've totally lapsed on] and it's pretty cool for that.
I have Chrome as well and it's giving me this silly drop down box, but the tags are for my PERSONAL journal when it's quite clear I'm trying to post in my fanfic journal. So I have to go to "POST" at the top, select my journal, and then make sure my entries aren't set to members only and then select my tags.
Lol, I can sort of see where you get the Fincher/Nolan blur from. I think Nolan tends a bit more towards the intellectual whereas Fincher is sort of more psychological and (I feel) more up for a spot of gore/violence, but yeah, there's a similar kind of tone running through their work at points. Like a kind of... polished grit?
I'm glad it's not that strange that I've gotten them smushed in my brain! Poor guys.
I came to this realization because I was saying to someone last night, "well, Nolan directed Fight Club," which sorta shocked them and then thinking on it I had to question myself... "Didn't he?" Looked it up, and realized that two guys existed where I thought there was only one. I mean, I knew both their names -- I would just associate them with all the same movies. Like Superman and Clark Kent or something. Only I was completely unaware I was doing it, of course. *headdesk*
