MY DEFAULT, LOL

HOW MANY ICONS DO YOU HAVE: 177
OUT OF HOW MANY AVAILABLE ICONS SPACES: 194
IF YOU COULD BUY SPACE FOR MORE, WOULD YOU: Not a chance. I want to get rid of some of the ones I have now just because I have so many that I hardly ever use. Which is not helped by the fact that 99% of the time I forget to change from my default icon when posting or commenting.
DO YOUR ICONS MAKE A STATEMENT: Yes. They say "I like color." They say, "I actually like Kate, from lost." They say, "This is my icon."
WHAT FANDOM DO YOU HAVE THE MOST ICONS OF: Definitely Lost. I guess I could count them up, lol.
AND THE SECOND MOST: Oh my god you really want me to count them? BSG? I dunno.
WHAT SHIP DO YOU HAVE THE MOST ICONS OF: Jack/Claire almost certainly.
ARE YOUR ICONS MADE MOSTLY BY OTHER PEOPLE: I should hope so, with 177 of them. Otherwise I'd be a bit of a narcissist I think.
DO YOU MAKE ICONS: In the distant past, there was a time.
ARE THEY ANY GOOD: You tell me.
ANIMATED ICONS ARE: Irritating.

DO THE MEME.

I love icon memes

› favorite character - I would say for affection's sake, Jack. But for me in the back half (third?) of the series, Kate's character is the only one that made sense to me in the end and that I could get behind 100%. So both Jack and Kate but for very different reasons.

› least favorite character - Ben Linus. The character was nothing but a coward and a whiny, derailing plot device. The fact that Ben wasn't dead after his guest appearance and that he stayed on the show, completely altering the course of it, ruined the entire thing for me. There is not enough hate in the world. Juliet and Locke are tied for second place here. [Then Charlie.]

› prettiest character - Kate
› character I wanna marry - Oh god, do I have to? I don't want to.
› favorite pairing - Canon: Kate/Jack, Kate/Sawyer, Rose/Bernard, Jin/Sun. Non-Canon: Claire/Jack(/Sawyer), Alex/Richard
› favorite episode - Pilot
› unpopular opinion - Well, I like Kate. I hate Ben, Juliet, and Locke. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Oh wow, hating Ben, Juliet & Locke certainly are unpopular opinions. But I think it's good to not follow the crowd. Locke was my favorite during S1, but I do wish they had gone in a different direction with him. He started out as a leader and then turned into a weak/lost soul.

I think he turned that way somewhere toward the end of season one. I think he was pretty much dead to me when he A) Had a vision of dead!Boone, B)believed his visions to be the truth, and C)Still lead Boone to the place in his dreams where he would surely get killed and then D) Was crying over the hatch for himself and not poor dead Boone at the end of it. Out of that list, D was the worst offense. I couldn't believe he was whining over not being able to get the hatch open after what happened to his friend. (What he let happen.) It kind of falls in line with Ben getting Alex killed and then whining about it like he wasn't given the opportunity to save her. Same thing to me. Gah, I need to shut up about this.

Yes, THANK YOU!!!! I think the sole reason I stuck with fandom (beyond the awesome people and works;) was so that I could kill him in fic. I really, really, really liked to do that. Actually, if I have time over the break, maybe I'll give life to my long-embryonic AU-ish faintly Richard/Alex-y bunny in which Richard kills him really, really, really horribly. That could be fun.

This is something that I know you and I can totally agree on, haha. Dude, you have to write that fic! It sounds awesome! *cheers you on*

I didn't know you liked Kate/Jack! Interesting.

They were my favorite at the start. And at some point it was like it depended on the day whether or not I cared about them. They were neutral to me for a while. But I was happy to see the acknowledgement of their relationship in the end otherwise a lot of the stuff that happened previously would have seemed kind of random. Especially the way they were setting them up.

I also really disliked the basis for the Kate and Sawyer relationship and I very much agree the whole "they're the same person" thought-process that a lot of people had about that ship, but in the end they were two people in a relationship that (after its inception) felt very real to me and I enjoyed watching them.

I could definitely appreciate the value of both relationships.

And I never "blamed" Kate for the triangle -- which I just think is just completely hypocritical. (Not to mention the fact that it completely omits Juliet from the situation and the fact that both Jack and Sawyer had relationships with her too.)

BSG.

Also, I love that you just used a generic icon for favorite fandom. It's hard to choose favorites.

From: [identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com
I can't choose! If I could narrow it down to two I would say Buffy (incl. Angel) and BSG. But even then I would feel like I'm leaving stuff out.

But then my favorite "fandom" as in the participation aspect of it will probably be Lost in the end because I've made most of my fandom friends first and foremost through that show. [But oddly I wouldn't ever call Lost one of my favorite shows -- which is bizarre.]

› favorite character - Starbuck. 100% no matter what happened in the end. She will always remain my favorite. There are a lot of ways in which I identify her and that's probably the reason why. She's on my top ten list of favorite characters of all time for sure. [Pacey Witter of Dawson's Creek sits in the top spot of that list, btw.]

› least favorite character - It feels so much like cheating to say Cavil but I have to. I sincerely doubt anybody likes him.

› prettiest character - Oh my god everybody's pretty. Almost everybody! Athena and Boomer, Kara, all the Sixes -- especially when Tricia got to wear her natural hair color, Lee, Sam, Leoben (yes, lol), Ellen frakkin' Tigh. Yeah, they were ripe with pretty. It was falling off their branches.

› character I wanna marry - Helo was an excellent husband, lol.

› favorite pairing - I'll give you my three top pairings and they're all (essentially) non-canon: Sam/Chief, Sam/Ellen, Kara/Leoben.

› favorite episode - The entire New Caprica Arc was awesome but the two part finale of S1 was pretty epic as well. I have no idea how to answer this question. I just listed six episodes and I could go on!

› unpopular opinion - I actually liked the finale for the most part. I love Baltar. (Do people not love Baltar? I'm not sure that's a thing.) And by the end I was so sick of both Roslin and Adama.

How about BTVS? :)

› favorite character - Buffy Summers. I could elaborate on this but I will just say that I was appalled that some people had a lot of S7 hate for this character. After everything that she'd been through and how much she had grown, it just blew my mind that people somehow thought she was arrogant. She was up against the worst thing she'd ever seen and was doing what she had to do, period. Thank you very much!

› least favorite character - This is a tough one. I pretty much loved everyone. Even the villains were at least interesting enough to enjoy their presence. I'm going to probably have to go with Riley in the end even though I know he was a good guy. In the end, not so much. Barring returning guest appearances of course.

› prettiest character - Anya or Buffy. Or Giles.

› character I wanna marry - Probably Oz in all honesty. I loved his character a lot.

› favorite pairing - This is a super hard one because I honestly enjoyed every canon ship that the show threw at us. Excluding Riley for the most part. (Although the stuff where he knew Buffy never really loved him? That was heartbreaking. I felt for the guy.) I had no real preference over Angel or Spike. I enjoyed them both as beau of Buffy. So ... everyone? (This is such a non-answer.)

› favorite episode - Holy shit it is impossible to pick just one. All of the finales were excellent with the exception of the season six finale which was just shitty -- especially in comparison to the gift. Plus there's probably about a half a dozen episodes from each season (barring s1) that I could cite as a favorite. This was just an amazing show so it's hard to choose.

› unpopular opinion - I honestly never got all the Kennedy hate. I never picked a side in the Buffy ship wars. I loved Buffy until the end. And I liked season six a lot, despite how dark it was -- excluding final "Willow-goes-bad" arc.

Personally, I loved Buffy in season seven. I felt like it was a fitting culmination of her journey. It felt like she finally became not only a grown up, but a warrior willing to make the tough decisions even if the people around her couldn't always understand her motives.

Riley bored me. I didn't dislike him really, he was just kind of bland, but I was never a big fan of any of Buffy's boyfriends. I love that woman, but her taste in men always baffled me.

Probably Oz in all honesty. I loved his character a lot.

YES. <3

› favorite character - Oh this one's a toss-up. I'm going to have to say Topher though. Absolutely.

› least favorite character - Sorry, Summer Glau. I did not like Bennett at all.

› prettiest character - This is hands-down Priya. Girl is a kind of pretty that hasn't even been defined yet.

› character I wanna marry - Haha, probably no one. They don't seem like the marrying type. If not, Tony.

› favorite pairing - Tony/Priya is just the most perfect little romance to ever grace our TVs. In terms of fic and my little AU non-canon world I have to say Topher/Priya, Alpha/Echo, and Mag/Zone (which! There should be more fic for Mag/Zone!)

› favorite episode - Both Epitaphs.

› unpopular opinion - Um, I liked Topher when it was extremely unpopular to like Topher. The whole misogynistic thing with Joss and the show doesn't really compute with me. And I get it, but the over-arching message of the show is that this type of exploitation is a of the very bad kind. But I guess... I guess I just don't get it. Also, and I know that this isn't exactly unpopular, but despite enjoying this show I do realize that about 85% of the time it really wasn't very good.

I'd say Alpha/Echo is pretty darn canon, if only in a crazy unrequited way. :P

› favorite character - Abed.

› least favorite character - Chang & Pierce pretty much (I would like Pierce better if they ever let him develop into a real character instead of the butt of all the jokes.) Also? New!Britta. Which I'll explain in the last question.

› prettiest character - Shirley

› character I wanna marry - None, thanks.

› favorite pairing - I did like Annie/Jeff and if the show hadn't backpedaled out of that one I still might. But I'm going to have to go with none. Abed/Pop-Culture's a pairing right?

› favorite episode - I honestly haven't the faintest.

› unpopular opinion - My unpopular opinion revolves around Britta. I call her new!Britta. Because I think there are two different Brittas. I actually really loved her character in the first half or so of season one and I identified with her a lot. But it's not an exaggeration to say that her character has changed quite a bit, and they even ret-conned her by having her denounce her own actions and admit she's a fraud. I just don't like what the character has become. She acts so immature and she and Jeff bring out the absolute worst in each other. She's really only tolerable to me when she's acting with the group and isn't standing out in any way. I miss old!Britta. True story.

› favorite character - Kenzi. She's the sidekick but she's by far the character with the most personality. I *heart* her. She's so fun and likable. And her relationship with Bo is cute to watch -- the way they play off each other works really well.

› least favorite character - Lauren. The doctor. She is snoresville. Please god don't let her be in another scene. (Wishful thinking, I know.)

› prettiest character - Hale, haha.

› character I wanna marry - Dyson. He's a werewolf. And he's extremely helpful. (And hot.)

› favorite pairing - Dyson and Bo are topping the charts. But I could go for some Dyson/Kenzi or even Hale/Kenzi. The latter of which is the most likely to happen of the two.

› favorite episode - I am not sure what it was called so I'll call it, "the one where they got locked in the loft."

› unpopular opinion - I have no idea what the opinions in this fandom are but I have seen a bit of Lauren love in the comm so I'm going to say that my thinking that Lauren is completely boring and is a totally useless character is probably not the most popular opinion in town.

Date: 2010-11-08 07:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lenina20.livejournal.com
well - I ship Bo/Lauren and I can tell you that's unpopular. I think most people don't like Lauren at all.

I still don't know what I'm going to do with the show. A part of me is dragged to it, but a bigger part thinks it's a very bad supernatural 'mystery-of-the-week' show. Reminds me of Charmed in a very bad way. I don't know yet.

Date: 2010-11-08 08:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] crickets.livejournal.com
Yeah, I'm guilty of not liking Lauren. She comes off very bland to me, no personality at all, in my opinion. :( Sorry.

It's a fun show, I think I'll keep it. To be honest, I don't have any shows these days that I'm all that invested in. All of them are just entertainment and nothing more.

I never actually watched Charmed if you can believe it. I might be able to name the sisters because I've seen parts of it over the years. But I can't seem to recall watching a full episode.

› favorite character - Mal

› least favorite character - I never did like YoSaffBridge, lol.

› prettiest character - Inara (or Simon)

› character I wanna marry - Simon

› favorite pairing - canon: Inara/Mal non-canon: Simon/Mal

› favorite episode - There are so few, can't I pick them all?

› unpopular opinion - I guess my only known unpopular opinion is that I was never "pissed" about Wash's death. Because I know it was the end and these things happen.

Me neither. As far as I can judge it that seems to be a pretty unpopular opinion.
