So over at "The Lemon Tree" where only myself and Colin lurk anymore, we've been keeping lists of the new flicks we watch in a year. We don't count movies we're re-watching and the goal is to get to 100. In order to make it so that "bad" movies still count, I call it a win if I get through half of it. Which you'd think would make this easy. But! I'm at 86. I think there's a high probability that I'm leaving some movies off of this list. But here's what I've got written down:

Blankety, blank, blank.

So, POLL TIME? What movies do you think I should watch in the next two weeks to make it an even hundred? I do realize that you don't know every movie I've ever seen so it's possible you'll suggest something that won't count for my list. But that's okay! I'm sure you'll pick some that I haven't seen yet! And I sincerely doubt I'll have the time to watch fourteen movies before the end of the year. But I can try!

I just suggested some old and new films that I liked so hopefully, you'll find a likely candidate. =)

I have not seen Scott Pilgrim yet. Is Tron out yet? I wasn't sure when it was coming out. I haven't ever seen the original. I have been wanting to see Letters to Juliet actually! And never did get to finish Hot Fuzz. Started way back when but something happened and I never got to finish it. I will definitely add a few of these to my list. I'll have to look up the ones I don't recognize, thank you!

Watch the original Tron too. It's not like you won't follow the story if you didn't but it just enhances Tron Legacy.

Best movie I've seen lately was Toy Story 3. I cried but I laughed more. It was awesome. :-D

After that, I'd recommend The Prestige. If you haven't seen it.

You know I only saw that first Toy Story movie this year! And I didn't even really watch it so much as I was in the room while it was on and vaguely remember very basic details, lol. I should catch up huh?

Yes, the Prestige was good! I saw that!

I suggested all things you can dl/rent. Well, you can't rent Attack on the Pinup Boys because it's Korean... Borrowed Hearts is my Christmas classic and Elvis and Annabelle was really touching (even if it did have Blake Lively.)

I might have to give that Librarian one a shot! Also Borrowed Hearts -- I've never heard of it but LOVE the title. I'm gonna go hunt it down. (And I've seen Elvis and Annabelle! Cute!)

a lot of the movies I've suggested are older movies, but they are the ones I love best (and I haven't seen many new movies.

And I forgot to add The Lost Boys, both Bill and Ted Movies and that Ethan Hawke vampire movie (I want to say Daybreakers?)

Good luck making it to 51 :)!

I've seen almost all of the ones that you've suggested, lol. But I have NOT actually seen Pitch Black but I heard good things about it! It's going on the list!

It's one of my favourites. Pretty deep and very interesting considering it had such a tiny budget-and almost all unknown actors.

There's Dark Fury and Chronicles of Riddick too, if you want 2 more movies-but neither is as good as the original (IMHO).

I just saw your suggestions to yourself and (500) Days of Summer and The Boat that Rocked were both wonderful. I suggested a few things, but I just watched Micmacs this weekend and it was pure eye candy. It was directed by the same guy that did Amelie.

I am still unsure about watching (500) Days of Summer. I just, the longer I waited before watching it the more I was sure I would be disappointed despite the fact that I really really wanted to see it ever since first seeing the trailer. And I just love Zooey and Joe so much. I am afraid to be disappointed. (Which is why I still haven't watched The Happening, but that's because I LOVE M. NIGHT! And I can't bring myself to watch it because of all the horrible things I've heard about it.)

Micmacs! I started that movie like a year ago and LOVED IT but then never finished. I am lame!

I love M. Night, too! The Happening was pretty awful though. It would have worked beautifully as a silent film because the images are so creepy/gorgeous. It's just the script was terrible. I don't know what he was thinking, but honestly the visuals alone make the movie worth seeing. I believe M. Night is a truly gifted storyteller, he just gets a little lost sometimes.

I wrote as many as would fill the poll - most of the ones I recced are classic Hollywood, because I figure you're less likely to have seen them and a lot of them are relatively short (90 minutes or so). Also, even if you don't get to it before the end of the year, you NEED TO SEE Prince Achmed. It's a silent stop-motion animated film from Germany, using black paper cut-outs against a colored background. It's the first (known) animated feature-length film, it's absolutely beautiful, and it puts all those Disney classics to shame.

Mine are mostly gay or slashy; some surprise, huh? Older generally though: 70's & 80's

I put out some of my standard recs, you might of seen most of them but if you haven't they're all a great mix of unique entertainment. Nothing too heavy for your end of the year holiday! All great to watch with friends/family or alone :D They're all fantastic examples of their genres too!
