Little House by The Fray
She doesn't look, she doesn't see
Opens up for nobody
Figures out, she figures out
Narrow line, she can't decide
Everything short of suicide
Never hurts, nearly works

Something is scratching
Its way out
Something you want
To forget about

A part of you that'll never show
You're the only one that'll ever know
Take it back when it all began
Take your time, would you understand
What it's all about?
What it's all about?

Something is scratching
Its way out
Something you want
To forget about

No one expects
You to get up
All on your own with
No one around

This video is completely amazing, and even though I've never followed this show, some great messages and themes were easily conveyed to even an uneducated viewer, not to mention that it was just really pretty, and nice to watch.

I have a few quick questions about your video (which you of course don't have to answer, I'm just curious) - what program do you use, how did you color your video like that, and how did you apply the texture?

Oh wow, thank you so much for the kind words. Perhaps I've inspired you to watch the show? Hahaha.

And of course I'll answer your questions. I use Sony Vegas 6.0. I use a variety of coloring techniques on my vids. I suppose that comes from my background in making graphics. Anyway, for the following vid the main track had 8 (yeah, eight) layers of coloring.

01. Color Curves
02. Another Layer of Color Curves
03. Saturation Adjust (upped just slightly)
04. Color Balance
05. Color Correct
06. Color Correct Secondary
07. Black and White (desaturated a little bit)
08. Brightness & Contrast (upped the contrast slightly)

Then also, on some of the individual clips they were a bit too dark/contrasty, so I added an extra layer on the clip itself of Contrast/Brightness where I lightened it a bit or lowered the contrast or a combination of both, whatever looked best for that particular clip.

I've written a tutorial here: http://lostvideo.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=11978
About how to use some of the coloring features in Vegas, including curves. It's not an inclusive explanation of curves, but it does give an example of some curves layers so as to try to provide a starting point to understanding them.

Re: The texture. I added a top video layer and just dragged and dropped the layer like you would a video clip, stretched it over the entire project. Then I set the track to multiply (I believe, it all depends on the texture itself, screen, overlay, etc. all work) and set the crop to stretch.
