I picked up Deathly Hallows today at around 10:30-ish? I dunno, I have short-term memory loss. I bought it at Target and it was cheap, $17.99 USD, which I think was a decent deal, especially since I didn't pre-order or anything. There were no lines or pushing and shoving. Just stacks and stacks of uncracked Harry Potter, the last and final installment.

*nostalgic sigh*

The clerk said, "thought you'd take your chances, huh?"

And I laughed, "yes."

I am not really involved in the fandom, but I have been waiting for this just like everybody else. It's weird, finally holding it in my hands. It made me giddy. (Just ask Dayl.) Or maybe that was my gummy worm-bears? Or my adorable laughing cow cheese! (Seriously? those little wrapped wedges? Stinkin' cute!)

At any rate I have had the book in my possession for about two hours and I have only read one page because I was on the phone with Miss Dayln avoiding the thing. I'm not really afraid I won't like it or that I'll be disappointed. Not in the least. I'm just afraid that if I start reading I won't be able to stop. I know I'll be sucked in. I was house-sitting the night of the last release, accompanied my friend Carrie's daughters to the Borders release shindig, and I didn't stop reading for two days, curled up in her bigass bed with her bigass dogs.

Oh, Harry.

I love your icon! I love laughing cow cheese! I love YOU! Hahaha. Sorry. I saw a fucking shiny black impala that looked JUST like the Metallicar on my way home from Target, I had the new Harry Potter book and the original Behind Blue Eyes was playing on the radio. And it's a gorgeous day out. I'm just too stoked for words.

Aww, thank you! Christian Kane is the Hotness.

Laughing Cow cheese is awesome! We had it at my friend's house last night on mini bagels, actually. And yay for seeing a Metallicar look-a-like. That's always fun.

Enjoy your HP book. LJ is simply crazy with it today it seems, but it's one of the few thing I'm not in on, lol.

I was expecting the library (Salem Church) to be bat-shit insane with Harry fans today. Nope. Apparently, I missed the small rush this morning. My sister is getting the book from Borders. After she reads it, I'm getting my hands on it. I'll ask her about Borders crazy-ness.

Tomorrow is my nephew's birthday party. He'll be five on Monday! Five! I feel old! lol

You. Me. Have to hang out. Don't know when, though. One day after work, maybe? :-)

Well no matter how old you get, I'll always be older. So that should make you feel a bit better. Your sister will probably read it in like 2 hours! Hahah. Isn't she like a speed-reader or something? Hehe.

Yes we do have to hang out. I should see you (for real this time) on Monday. I was supposed to be in there on Wednesday but totally flaked and even missed a tutoring appointment. I never called or anything. I feel like such a bad person!

We'll talk this week. I'm up to Chapter 4. I think I'm going slow, but I'm a slow reader anyway. I like to call it attention to detail. Hahah.

I've only read the first few chapters of the first book, and that was actually a read along to get Kenneth to read them when he was in about 2nd grade? Maybe 3rd? Ron and I got home from Tahoe today, the kids are both at their camps, and there was the Amazon box, looking sort of sad LOL I at least opened it. Kenneth will be home tomorrow, but I dont think he is in a rush to read it. He's got to get through Malcom X for school first.
Oh and who says I dont think of you while I am away?

Bahaha, where did that come from!?

Did you have a good time on your trip?

We had a great time. Were going to come home tomorrow, but us old people need extra time to rest up and regroup, well Ron does anyway, he has to work Monday, not me! Anyway that tree is an Apsen, its one of many in a grove where people carved them all up, it was sort of sad actually. But then I spotted "you" LOL

After you're done this book, are you going to start on Marcus' Henry Potter series? Image I hear they're very similar.

Wasn't he making that into a movie or something? I can just wait for the film.

I volunteered to work the 7.30-9.30am shift on Saturday so I could buy my copy early withouht looking like a complete obsessive, earn enough to cover the cost of buying it (plus change!), and hopefully not get spoiled.

Worked like one of Hermione's charms!

Have finished now, and feel most satisfied.

Hope you do too when you get there!

I'm taking my time a bit. I'm only on Ch. 15 so far.
