It is no longer snowing.

[Insert sadface.]

A few things!

001. I scrolled through my list of tags the other day and realized I have too many. I need to see about organizing/rearranging/deleting the frak out of some of those. How could anybody find anything?

002. Biology. Math. Sweet Charity fic. Sweet Charity fic. Sweet Charity fic. In that order!

003. Finally getting around to some of those BASCon vid reviews. I let [livejournal.com profile] barefoot_chick borrow the DVD so I couldn't remember a whole lot of them but here are a few I remember:
  1. Jesus for the Jugular by [livejournal.com profile] obsessive24.
Song: Jesus for the Jugular, The Veils
    Fandom: Carnivàle

If you're a Carnivàle fan, you should see this video. If you're a fan of fanvids but have never watched Carnivàle in your life, you need to see this vid. If you're a fan of being a fan of things but have never watched Carnivàle or ever even heard of a fanvid you need to see this vid. In short - or in my case, not - you need to see this vid. The imagery is disturbing, there is no doubt about that, especially given the documentary footage that was cross-blended with it. But it is all kinds of mind-blowing, wonderful, yet scary, psycho, amazing! Okay? Watch it.

  2. You Can Call Me... by [livejournal.com profile] sdwolfpup.
Song: You Can Call Me Al, Paul Simon
    Fandom: Due South

I'd heard of, but never seen Due South before watching this vid. But that didn't matter because it is cute, and quirky and perfectly done. The song is, well, it's You Can Call Me Al, okay? You do the math. I just love it. I'm sure there's some greater insight into the vid that I'm missing because I haven't watched the show, but there ya go. Definitely check it out! And, actually, since watching this, I've totally downloaded and started watching. Three episodes so far! And loving it!

  3. Filthy Mind by [livejournal.com profile] sol_se
    Song: Filthy Mind, Amanda Ghost
    Fandom: Multi-Fandom

This video is such a seamless blend of similar images from fandoms stretching from Battlestar Galactica, to Lost, to Buffy, to Angel and Alias, to X-Files, Harry Potter, Due South, Stargate Atlantis etc. etc. etc. There's really not a whole lot I can say about it except that it's a hell of a lot of fun to watch and is brilliant beyond what I can explain. I can't even imagine how long it must have taken to, not only gather, but to draw the parallels between each fandom and the imagery used there-in.

004. This wasn't on my BASCon DVD, but I've been meaning to rec this for a while:
  1. Men of Devotion by [livejournal.com profile] chayiana
    Song: Man of Devotion, Foolsgarden
    Fandom: Stargate Atlantis

A very very cute McShep video. I believe I first saw this video on YouTube, somehow randomly linked there when searching for something else. I didn't even watch SGA at that point. (Arguably, I still don't, I've seen three episodes, courtesy the 1st season DVD set loaned to me by [livejournal.com profile] barefoot_chick.) It is a realy quirky, fun, video that will make you smile. It's also incredibly addictive I've watched it many, many times over. It gives me so much love for this show that I have only begun to watch, and the boys in it. *squishes them both* Now go watch the vid!

005. FIC: and the stream will flow red (with the blood of all those left behind), bsg, kara/leoben, pg13
