So someone I know *cough*
dayln03 *cough* is vidding to Swans by Unkle Bob. Which, if you're a Grey's Anatomy buff, you'll know was featured in the episode Some Kind of Miracle. The scene? Spirit!Denny and Izzie more or less say their goodbyes. See here:
It was one of those beautiful, breathtaking, nearly dialogue-free moments that really only Grey's can pull off. And yet... this was the very last episode that I ever watched. Just quit. Cold turkey. And you'd think maybe it was because I hated it? No. It was a hell of an episode. And I really loved the show, too. I just... I had this feeling that it was going to be the last episode I would like? I don't know. I just stopped. Entirely, suddenly, with no real precedence.
(I've seen clips and stuff since, but that's it.)
So I was talking to Dayln about it, about that song and that scene and that episode. And this was before she and I were as close as we are now, and come to find out that we both were fans of the show and both of us quit watching the show directly after that episode in much the same fashion. Just up and quit for no real reason other than... it was over for us.
So looking back and thinking about it, both of us were wondering if it didn't have anything to do with the whole Izzie/Denny epic!love, it's-over-now-for-real, moment. The catharsis of it was so final, maybe? I dunno! Either way it's a weird coincidence.
