Justin Taylor sucks, let me count the ways. (not that i can count...)

I've been re-watching season one of Queer as Folk with dayln03 and I'm remembering, intensely so, why I hated Justin Taylor so. much.

001. He is a little snot-nosed brat! From the very start, Jennifer tries very hard to accept him and understand him. And he just goes out of his way to be a total prick to her and to make her uncomfortable. Then he says stuff like "Oh I wish I had a mom like yours. You're so lucky," to Michael. (That's a paraphrase.) And yet he treats his own mother, who is trying very hard, like crap! Not cool, JT. NOT COOl.

002. He really really pushes his way into Brian's life. He runs away from his sweet-as-pie mother, looking for Brian, claiming "he'll know what to do." And when he finally finds him, he doesn't even talk about his mom. They just, YA KNOW, and then Justin is on his merry way again. Foo, Justin. You're dumb. Maybe if he had actually asked Brian for advice at that point, it would be different. But he didn't. He so didn't. He didn't care about any of that. It was all just a play to get to Brian.

003. He imposes upon Brian, constantly, and when Brian tells him where he can go, he whines and says stuff like, "where am I supposed to go? Do you want me out on the streets?" Like he couldn't find another place to go and like Brian is totally responsible for him. And Brian buys into it! But at least he makes the little snot sleep on the couch some of the times.

004. He doesn't set the alarm like he was asked, so Brian's place is robbed. Justin apologizes, but immediately steals Brian's credit card and hops a flight to NYC and buys himself an expensive hotel room. WHAT. THE. FUCK? Seriously. The first thing I'd do if my friend was robbed and it was my fault would totally be to steal their credit card and go gallivanting around NYC. Oh. MY. GOD. I could not hate him MORE.

The last season or two, with respect, I think I came around on his character. He was still a little snot to his mother, but I think he'd changed a bit. Or maybe I'd just gotten used to his stupid hijinks? I dunno. All I know is that he's so my least favorite person on that show.

Emmett Honeycut is love. As is Michael and Michael/Brian. (OMG! Chemistry!) Someone tell me why Linds was ever with Mel? She is so mean! (But she does make me laugh sometimes, I'll give her that.) Also, watching it now, now that I'm a vidder, I really really love the editing on the show. I think I'm also gaining a newfound respect for poor Teddy. (Ted, you look fabulous. Oh my god, he really does look fabulous!)

Having just recently been converted to QAF and the Brian/Michael love, can I just say how absolutely right you are about Justin *applauds*

And don't forget how he actually throws stuff like "You don't love Brian!" or "You must not care about him very much!" at Michael, for which I could just punch him. Constantly.

And of course I had to fall in love with Brian/Michael, despite knowing that they wouldn't end up with each other (although I squint and pretend very hard at the end ;)

Anyways...I just wanted to hug and squeeze you because I don't have that many people to squee with about that pairing :)

I always thought Brian and Michael had so much chemistry. When they just look at each other, let alone those scorching (yet somehow tender) kisses of theirs. Those little moments between them have so much more chemistry when compared with all the sexin' Brian is usually getting from any number of guys. So even though I know how it ends, it's okay.

My big theory about Brian and Michael was that the reason Brian never slept with him, was because he truly was in love with him, and knew that if he did, that he'd have to give up his party boy lifestyle and settle down. LMAO.

But hey! I'm pretty sure they did get the last kiss right? Or was the Michael and Ben?

You can come here to squee about Brian and Michael any time dude! It's a rarity! Cause most people are all about Brian/Justin, amiright?

Word oh word. Plus I think that deep down Brian always thought that Michael was the only one who loved him for reasons that had nothing to do with sex, and he didn't want to jeopardize that. I mean, just think about it, Michael is the only person with whom Brian ever let his guard down completely, the only one he alwayas trusted to be there for him (and vice versa)...

Plus all this unfulfilled love and desire is so much more erotic than mindless fucking.

I totally ship Brian/Michael as well. I can't stand Justin. I've only seen S1, though - people tell me he gets less annoying as the seasons go by, but in all the episodes I've seen I mostly want to slap him silly.
