So... I am still loving Revenge.

♥!

Spoilers for 1.10 of Revenge:

That scene! Ugh, break my heart, Nolan Ross. Really. He is my absolute favorite. Why does Emily have more chemistry with him than with anyone else? Of course, this is another case of me seeing something that isn't in the actual text, not that I really mind. There are times when I get a little underwhelmed by the whole classic soap opera-ness of this show, but damn I kind of don't care. The promo for next week was so classic. Can't wait.

Unrelated note!
I SUCK: At this whole Christmas advent thing! I am sure I missed fic that was written for me so if you've written any and I haven't seen it, please link me. And I'll do the same with you guys. But I am just having a hell of a time writing. I plan to get a bunch of stuff done over the weekend though. (I hope.) I swear I will do all of them. Whether it's on time or not is another matter entirely!

I wanted to hug him and punch Tyler for hurting him first. I get it's Emily fault that Tyler turned on him but damn Tyler.

I'm trying to figure out if Tyler was a rare occasion or if he's gay. Sometimes he seems into women, other times... I'm not sure.

BUT I LOVE NOLAN.

I wanted to hug Nolan too! But it's not Emily fault that Tyler showed his true colors. However, it is Emily's fault that she outed Nolan as bisexual.

I think Tyler is a 2 on the Kinsey scale: Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual.

I disagree about Tyler's sexuality. Him telling Ashley that he was disgusted by his actions with Nolan and similar words to Nolan just seem like a cover. I think he's actually in love with Daniel and all of his anger and resentment and jealousy stems from that.

I agree. Daniel is both an object of affecion and a target of destruction -- it's just so fucked up in Tyler's psychoses.

I kinda love this new wrinkle. Amanda will probably realize a few things when she's stewing all alone in her revenge: she misses Nolan's adorkableness and his popped collars, and she cares about Daniel more than she likes (more the former than the latter, but still)

p.s. Have you seen the previews for the next episode? OMG, this show is creeping towards Dynasty WTFabulousness more and more.

These are exactly my feelings on his character. And I definitely think Emily and Nolan will continue working together maybe despite themselves. I love their snarkiness with each other. The fact that they're not in a firm alliance now is probably just going to make me ship them more.

Personally enjoy Daniel, but in terms of shipping him with Emily or anyone I'm more lukewarm on the whole idea. I feel like Emily is just not herself with him (at all) so it's hard to really get invested in their fake relationship.

Yes the new preview is crazy good.

Agreed. Not only does it provide the only explanation given for all his 'break them up' shenanigans, once we were given the reason they fell into the background. But also, didn't his whole thing with Nolan come about because Nolan figured out about his sugar daddy? I believe him when he says his sexuality is largely instrumental, but I never got the impression his relationship with Ashley was an exception to that rule. Tyler doesn't really know how to deal with having non-instrumental feelings for Daniel, and takes it out on both Daniel and Emily.

He might have not though without her.

I'm convinced the Tyler is actually in love with Daniel. His issues with Emily seemed to stem first from jealousy. I also wouldn't trust him any further than I could throw him. I also feel like Emily hurt Nolan more with her betrayal than Tyler did with his. (And she's really right, she did do Nolan a favor by bringing an end to that particular affair.)

I had assumed Tyler was basically Tom Ripley but that's a good theory too.

I am loving Revenge so much omg. I feel like it's gotten a bit too muddy in the past couple episodes--what was Emily plan this episode? Did it work or backfire? What were her intended sacrifices and what were setbacks? It's started to feel like everyone's just doing stuff rather than well-wrought plans, which is I guess intentional what with Magical Stoic Asian's "you're too emotional, you're fired" pronouncement, but it's hard to follow what's really happening even when you understand every event that occurred. Still, I am always impressed with Emily VanCamp's ability to convey both her character's surface hardness and the vulnerability underneath it.

I don't really ship anyone on this show, but if I did, it would have to be Nolan/Emily. </3 that scene!
