I don't know from 'real' but I miss seasons 1 and 2 Stefan. And Stefan/Elena. And Stefan/Caroline. And Stefan/Bonnie but they haven't really been around since season 1.

The episode the gif is from was a weird combination of triggery (too realistic) and you-don't-get-it (too unrealistic) as a metaphor for alcholism for me. OTOH, I miss good Stefan/comparatively-healthy-relationship-model Stefan. The hiking scene toward the end of s2 that everyone on ONTD makes fun of was so good...

Sorry this is a late comment, just going back through my lj pages to catch up. Just had to stop and say I completely agree. Although I do get where they are going with ripper Stefan, delving into his issues to flush out his character, I am anxious to see what he will be like when he comes out on the other side of this. It's what keeps me tied to this show I'm trying so hard to quit! Oh Stefan, why do you have to be so perfect!
