I've decided I'm also going to start doing episode responses again, okay? This has nothing to do with how awesome Revenge was tonight.
Revenge 1.11, Duress
→ Let me first just say that I love that I can watch this show with my mom. It's ridiculous but also totally awesome and she loves it. I was getting up to get a cup of water and saying "Don't go to the party Nolan! You're my favorite." Then my mom gasps and says "Tyler's right there!" Awesome TV moment leading to awesome family moment. Done and done.
→ Have I mentioned that Nolan is my favorite? And that I kind of more-than-ship him and Emily? Well I do, and they were awesome in this episode. Emily looked up friendship on the internet! (D'aww!) And apologized! And they were adorable! My heart was filled with squee! It's almost enough to make me forget this:

NOT QUITE THOUGH.
→ Jack and Declan remain adorable with their brotherly banter. Love it. I admit I don't entirely hate Fauxmanda, but the thing is that when Jack finds out she's not the real deal, he's going to be all heartbroken and sad. Do I have to ask Pacey Witter to remind you how I get about scrappy underdogs on their romantically-named boats, or can history speak for itself here?
→ GO AWAY TYLER.... oh, thanks for finally listening. (I fear it won't be the last.)
→ I wish I could care more about Charlotte and Daniel. (And Conrad for that matter. Basically all of the Graysons except for Victoria.) Daniel is a nice guy but ohmygod BORING! The best part of the night is when he made eyes with Jack. I thought it was the universal "let's go somewhere and make out" cue, but it turns out they just wanted to tackle Tyler. Oh well, that works too.
→ I swear if Nolan and Amanda don't hook up at least once!... I - I will... have to read some very strongly-worded fan fiction!

→ That is all, goodnight! *takes a bow*

Date: 2012-01-06 09:24 pm (UTC)It was kind of funny how *no one* there (except his brother) knew how to handle someone who's in irrational-aggression space. I kept going *omg no no no you idiots* (even though that, too, was in character; Emily being the only one who I'd've expected to know how to handle him and she *wanted* his shit to come out).
I don't know whether this was Emily's intent or not, but I kind of wonder if she wasn't giving the Graysons a chance to repent, as it were, and if so, I kind of like that. By forcing this situation where Conrad had the choice between letting some innocent person die and telling the truth about what he did, even to a small group, she regains the moral high ground which had gotten really really muddled.

Date: 2012-01-23 05:08 pm (UTC)P.S. I've also converted my mum, btw, so I know exactly how you feel. She even ships N/E, which I thought I'd be foreveralone in when I first started watching. My favourite comments of hers are, "I doubt Jack & Emily could ever work" and (during one of the Nolan scenes early on) "You're right, he's incredibly good-looking." #quality family bonding
