Vampire Diaries Speculation

I've been fooled before...
Since they actually *appear to have* made Meredith the killer (snore) and I have nothing else to speculate about, here are some recently revealed episode titles:
3x17 "Break On Through"
3x18 "The Murder of One"
3x19 "Heart of Darkness"
3x20 "Do Not Go Gentle"
(Not including 1912, episode 16, which has been known for a while.)
Who is breaking through to the other side?
I've been meaning to post about this, because like the day (or so) after the most recent episode, Matt Davis tweeted some cryptic shit (and here I thought I had unfollowed him) about loving the taste of vampire blood and that's why he drinks it regularly or something. That's a terrible paraphrase, but anyway, with a council-hating, likely human, killer running around, it stands to reason that Alaric's got a belly full of the stuff and after the flashback heavy post-hiatus episode, we could possibly resume on episode 3x17 with Alaric in (or having completed) his transition into a vampire.
Just something to think about...
I also remember Julie saying something about everyone in the room gasping when they pitched the back end of the season to the network. Turning a regular is something that could elicit such a response.
