Lemme just jump right into this!

Paley fests were... umm.. interesting? I feel like the moderator for TVD and Revenge was just terrible. On the Revenge panel she didn't really talk about anything other than plot speculation/psuedo spoilers. Boring! Plus, the guy who kept saying "I'm talking too much" but everybody kept kissing his ass and telling him he wasn't? HE WAS. Absolutely, he was. The cast barely got to speak. (What? They're pretty! Let them talk!)

The best moment of that panel was the adorable Nick Wechsler mishearing a question and playing with his tie and just being cute. Also there was Joshua Bowman being gorgeous and English. And Gabriel shipping the hell out of Emily/Nolan! Oh. Em. Gee. You guys! Just... love. Ashley is so lovely. Emily is adorable. This whole cast. *stars in my eyes*

The TVD panel was a little bit random. Were they all on drugs? I could have done without mention of "Ernesto Riley" and his twitter-capades. Dude gives me the heebs. Truth. But but but! This reminded me how much I truly dig Ian as a person. I mean, okay, so he's kind of into himself a lot, but genuinely I like the dude. (And I approve of his new haircut. I was praying to the barbershop gods for forever that he would cut it.) Candice was adorable. And Paul and Ian were bromancing the hell out of that stage. It was pretty much glorious.

Shows I am currently behind on: Lost Girl, Shameless, Happy Endings, Awake (don't know if I'm going to watch the 2nd ep, convince me?), Modern Family
Shows I am current with/caught up on during vacation: Jane by Design, Switched at Birth, Parks and Rec, Suburgatory, Revenge, Grey's Anatomy, Hart of Dixie

To be perfectly honest with you? That list feels short. I'm looking at that going "Something's not right here. There's gotta be at least 20 more shows I'm forgetting."

Also, Jon Bernthal cast in L.A. Noir Pilot!! This makes me weirdly and stupidly happy. Not only for Bernthal, who I've taken quite a liking to, but because 1940s/50s noir! Now that is something I can see myself watching. Interested to hear more about who else is being cast and what it's all about. Hope it's not too heavily "mobster" and more "mystery" but we'll see.

I laughed all the way through the TVD panel. The moderator didn't do a good job, but Paul and Ian are pretty funny dudes. I'm also glad Ian got a haircut. It's been needed since beginning of S2.

Yeah the mod was ridiculously bad. You'd think Paley would have better mods. It's always thought of as such a prestigious panel for a how to be invited to, you'd think they'd get someone awesome or someone who would really fangirl it. (Like Kevin Smith on the BSG panels.)

I hate the Paleyfest mods, they're usually terrible.

I can't wait for the noir show! That'd be great to see.

I have seen some Paley panels before but nothing really sticks out. Now I know for the future not to expect much!

It seems like it could potentially be awesome!

What did you think of Switched at Birth? When I labeled it The Emmett Show I had no idea!

I miss Hart of Dixie. It's weird, but true. :-)

Me too. Is it finished or just in hiatus?

Yup. There is a wedding (at least a planned one) in April!

I miss Wade's shirtlessness, I have to admit. :-)

Well I actually missed tonight's episode. I kind of spoke too soon on claiming to be caught up with that show, haha. As far as Emmett's storyline leading up to that, I'm not too surprised. I feel like he doesn't really give Bay a chance and that he's way too hard on her. Part of it could have to do with the communication barrier, but I think the bigger reason may be that Emmett himself is just going through a lot right now and is kind of going off the rails a little bit. Love him, yes I do, but he's kind of being a huge idiot. He needs to straighten his wings and fly right before he and Bay can work things out. Which, I'm not even sure that's something I'm interested in watching anymore? Him being overly sensitive when she really is trying her best -- and not even about the speech therapy and her lack of deaf etiquette, but about virtually everything - It's just getting really old, really fast.

I actually did feel sorry for Daphne's former teammate. I forget her name right now. Because it seemed like she did get blamed for a lot of things she didn't actually do and that she was trying to reconnect with Daphne in a meaningful way. I know it seems unlikely now, but I certainly hope that she sticks around, just because it's so much more real and interesting to watch complicated characters like that even when things get really messy. I feel like just painting her a villain and dropping her would be the easy and predictable way to end this story line.

I'm interested to see where these next two episodes go. This show has been a really nice surprise, but there is a heck of a lot of frustration happening in almost all of the storylines right now and I'm eager to see some of them come to an end.

I didn't watch last night's SaB, either but am caught up other than that.

I'm an Emmett apologist so I blame the writing. I do think they wrote Bay with three boyfriends all in a row. The last two, Ty and Emmett, she seemed to really care about. Bay had a point. Emmett kissed her when she was with Ty. They never really worked that out. Emmett is very emotional and goes with his heart. I love that about him but it's fast. He's all putting up posters and saying he loves her and well, Bay is sixteen. And he has some serious stuff going on at home. So does she. It's a lot on both of them.

I'm mad that Emmett's mom put Bay in the middle of her divorce. That's not fair. She shouldn't need her son's girlfriend's help with getting custody of her son.

That said, the show does polarize Emmett. They did when he was angry, young deaf boy and mad at the hearing world. When they wrote him falling for Bay, then they wrote another angry young deaf boy character. I don't like that at all and it does get repetitive, tiresome, and stereotypical.

I don't trust Daphne's former classmate. She lies so much it's hard to tell what's the truth. She got the Latina girls kicked out of Bruckner and they never stole anything. She says she will pay for drinks and leaves without paying. And she never gets caught! It's maddening. I don't want her to be just a villain but the writers don't seem to be getting at any deeper issues at why she is how she is. Why did she latch on to Daphne and Daphne's brother so quickly and so tightly? Something isn't right there.

There is a lot of frustration! Where the heck did Angelo go? I had just begun to trust him. What about the suit against the hospital? Kathyrn was so stupid to pay their only witness. Who switched the kids? Will Kathryn get a book published?

There is a lot going on there.

When I read about Jon Bernthal being in LA Noir, I flashback to him being Al Capone or some mobster in Night in the Museum 2 -- and I totally approve.

I didn't ever see that movie. I may have to remedy that.

I feel like Jon just was kind of in everything I was watching for a short stretch. I saw him in Eastwick, and then The Pacific, and then The Walking Dead. He's really grown on me a lot. I kept minimal tabs (okay barely!) on The Walking Dead after I quit watching (end of season one) because I remembered really liking his character. I'm sure that [livejournal.com profile] ozmissage won't mind if I quote her, but she said to me, "99% of the time he was the smartest guy in the room," which I feel like was a SUPER unpopular opinion, but one that I categorically agreed with. I guess it turns out he had something of a nervous breakdown and went a little crazy at the end, but to me he was still awesome. (Even though I have no true way of saying that, because I quit watching.) I'm just glad to hear he's got something big coming so soon after his departure.

Yes, he was, and because he was just so crazy-acting that the almost always wrong Rick became the default voice of reason.

Oooh, how do you like Jane By Design? I keep meaning to dl it and forget, but I rarely hear people talking about it so curious.

And ugh @ the moderators at those things usually being so bad (and most roundtables too). Either they talk too much or they give the casts nothing in the way of engaging questions. W A S T E.

It's seriously the most adorable thing ever! HERE (http://krickets.tumblr.com/tagged/jane-by-design) is my Jane by Design tag on tumblr. Not much there, but I think the adorableness shines through.

YES. The worst questions! At least on the TVD panel it felt like everybody got more of an opportunity to talk, even though it was kind of insane and weird and rambly. On the Revenge panel it was way too plot focused and nobody but the producer (I think he was a producer) really got to talk.

The TVD mod was so bad. There were a couple of times when she just laughed awkwardly to herself, and the cast and audience had nothing to do but join in. But other than her, it was actually really hilarious. Paul and Ian were so entertaining.

I was so shocked when Ian came in looking dapper with that new haircut--let's make him look like that on the show! Why must they be so against stubble.

I'm so happy about Bernthal getting a new show! I vaguely remember a time when I wasn't super into him. It was a sad time, I try not to think about it too much. ;) Did you hear Simon Pegg landed a spot on that show too? I think it might just be a guest stint, but still: SIMON PEGG.

Ooh, I remember what I was going to ask you about now: what the heck is up with the Ernesto Riley/crazed ramblings of Matt Davis? You told me not to look up his Twitter account if I wanted to maintain my infatuation with him once, but I got curious a few weeks ago and did it anyway. Now i'm just baffled. What's the deal? Is it performance art? Is he in a cult and/or secretly an alien like in those Hulu commercials? I don't understand.

Noooooo! I did not hear that! COOL.

I have NO IDEA. He's like... I don't know what he's like. I feel like he's trying to be funny? But I just don't know. It's very Andy Kaufman. There were a couple of times he's posted something so offensive that he went back and deleted the tweets later. True story. Like okay, we don't need to hear about your sexcapades and you being totally disrespectful to your partner, even if it is all fictional.

Some of the videos he's made of the cast are cool, but beyond that I actually don't know what to make of him.
