The ep was... an episode?

I still don't like Juliet, PTB.

I mean, even after her big "woe is me, everyone with a heart will love me after they see this" episode. (Though, they already tried that last season with the sister episode too.) I was just... meh. And I still don't get why everyone loves her so much, no offense. Feel free to explain. I'm a cold-hearted bitch, what?

And I hate Locke more with each episode.

And honestly? I adore Michael Emerson, but Ben is so over the top now it's just ridiculous. Someone tally up a list of shit he's done/has been behind/crazy things he's said/lies possible truths he's told/etc.etc.etc. and prove my point?

And the whole Charlotte knocks Kate out for her own sake thing is utter bullshit. And where does this poisonous gas leak out? Because correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a big mother of an island! How are they gonna poison everybody on the entire island? Seriously? (Maybe I missed something.)

*sigh*

I loved last week. Loved. Now I just want to punch a kitten.

I think I'm just going to have to let people tell me whether or not I'll like the ep before I subject myself to it. Yes, I said subject.

And finally, Sawyer. Please go kill Ben and Locke and declare yourself king of Otherville (Eggtown?) and take Claire as your queen? Please?

Wordy McWorderstein to EVERYTHING you said, with a side-order of "JACK WHAT THE FRAK?!?!?! YOU LOVE KATE, YOU FRIGGIN' TOOL!"

I fucking HATE Juliet. She needs to die, like YESTERDAY (along with that stupid mother-frakkin Charlottebitch. Last week was AWESOME, and this week, wtf?!

Fail, Lost. FAAAAAAAAAAIL.

I think Juliet WILL die cause Ben is a freak and he'll either HAVE her or make sure nobody else does. Or something.

"JACK WHAT THE FRAK?!?!?! YOU LOVE KATE, YOU FRIGGIN' TOOL!"

She's been fucking Sawyer for weeks now. She's been hanging out with Sawyer since... oh, I don't know. Day Three. SHE doesn't love HIM. Is he supposed to be a hermit for the rest of his life or until she gets over Sawyer? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start off like that... I just... don't... GET it. Kate fucks Sawyer repeatedly and I'm supposed to accept that "awww, poor things she's got self-esteem issues but IT'S OK because she really, really loves HIM." Jack decides to do the only healthy thing and move on with someone who actually wants HIM and only him and he's a tool?

I'm not a shipper anymore and I'm afraid I just don't... get these things.

But this is where i know the story is gonna get SOOOO lame. This is where the story gets weirder, sex scenes, and Kate creeps everyone the fuck out.

Kate and Jack being 'in love' while making it morally okay for each other to be banging other people is the creepiest thing I've interpreted from the show since Kate wanted to bang her Island version of her grab and molest biological father.

Kate is incapable of having sex with a man without it being creepy. Any story the writers produce is hinged on the fact that Kate fucks for all the creepy reasons. Pity, sorrow, jealousy, anguish, desperation. If i actually gave the writers any credit, i would say they are trying to tell the audience something, but honestly? I dont give a shit about Kate, so i find it hard to care about why she needs the itch scratched.

So now theres this Juliet-Kate triangle over Jack. Someone seriously just remove Kates vagina. Its up to no good. ever.

I totally agree with you there.

You know, I feel the same way, I gave up on them back in season one. (Maybe when they kept firing/parting "amicably" with all of their writers?) I have enjoyed much of this season so far, but as far as actual context and character development? They fail. Epically so.

Someone seriously just remove Kates vagina. Its up to no good. ever.

Are you sure this doesn't have more to do with Jack's anatomy? LMAO. Although, please! Leave that intact!

Aww hey, it's okay lol... was just airing my frustration. Seriously, right before the kiss I was literally going "no no no" at my computer screen... I'm just a diehard Jater at heart, I guess. I think my main frustration is just that it was like six episodes ago that he told her he's in love with her, and... well, to be honest, I think it's an issue I personally have with guys sending mixed messages, but that's not for here.

PS Ben is a TOTAL freak. Complete word to ya there. I mean... okay, normally he gets on my nerves but this episode? He was just downright irritating, with this all-consuming love for Juliet (something I personally don't get at all).

I have really grown to love Sawyer, and so I want to believe that his feelings for Kate are very real so I... well I wouldn't say I like that pairing from a storytelling point of view, because that's a little cracked, but I don't mind it all that much. Her feelings for him are another story. You thought, you know, it was Kate that was gonna get hurt. But it seems to me it's the other way around now. Oh, god, I'm going to say it. Poor Sawyer. LMAO.

The Jack/Kate thing. Well. I still think that it's that whole, Mulder/Scully thing. It's just not going to happen until the 11th hour, if then. And I do still want it to, on some level. On another level? I don't trust these writers for shit and I'd rather read fanfic. (And funnily enough, I never read Jack/Kate fic, unless one of my flisters writes or recs it.)

I still love Charlotte. I'm sorry. She's sorta snarky and funny and she and Daniel need to have many red-headed babies together. Even though I have a feeling that whole "gas" storyline was just a tool to get... well fuck I don't know what it was a tool for but it was dumb.

Next week better be... better. LOL.

I should go see if I can find a promo for it.

ha ha ha! the list of Ben's doing would be long and quite over the top indeed, but I can't help it! heee! I love the little shit!

the episode didn't do much for me either, as a whole.

Right? I have lost track with that, same as I have lost track with just about everything else in this show.

And I find that increasingly, the payoff isn't worth it.

I thought it was on the boring side, especially when you consider the kickassness of the past episodes.

Ben is creepy, like reaching that creepy guy in Silence of the Lambs--if he starts saying, "It puts the lotion in the basket" I wouldn't be surprised.

WORD.

Last week's ep was fan-frakkin-tastic! But this was just bleh!

I started to like Juliet last season but she's been annoying me no end this season!

And Jack WTF??? He literally just told Kate he loved her! :S

I don't know about the poisonous gas thing! It is a little confusing but I'm sure there's a reasonable complex explanation behind it!

As for Ben and Locke I disagree with you a little there! I like them as characters but they can be a little OTT sometimes.

Having only watched two episodes from this season (last night's and the one that aired before it - which was AWESOME because it was DESMOND and SAYID being all confused and gorgeous-like), I must say Lost is not as cool as it used to be. I liked it better when you had to figure out the name game yourself (Desmond David Hume, John Locke, Danielle Rousseau!). I also liked it better when they weren't doing the crazy ridiculous mind games on EVERYONE.

Also, Juliette has creeped me out since day one. Probably because the first time I saw the actress was in that crap movie (Running Blind? On Empty? Scared?) where she played a pedophile.

And I like your idea about Sawyer. HEE.

But did anybody ever really figure it out? And I don't think they're done with the mysteries. There's still way too much that's open-ended. And I suppose they keep it that way because nearly every time they reveal an explanation for some big mystery we've been waiting seasons for, with exceptions, it's a disappointment.

But I generally liked this ep, really. And I find Juliet very interesting character. Ben though? He truly is SO over the top :/

GOODWIN YAY!

See, I don't get the part where I'm supposed to like Goodwin now? I mean, he had an epic romance, even bad guys get the blues, etc. But he also killed an innocent survivor. Like, everything, I suppose we're supposed to forget?

*sigh*

Last week bored me. Last week was entertaining but I didn't CARE. This week was choppy but I had fun.

I'm not sure about the gas, though that IS a good observation...

I don't LOVE Juliet, I'm not emotionally into her. She's good to Jack for now so that's all I care about.

LMAO, Claire! She needs to reattach Sawyer's balls after Kate severed them yet AGAIN. I loved her getting all in Locke's face. It's a family thing. :D

THANK YOU.

Okay, half way through this episode, i totally lost interest. I actually said "Here we go again..".

How many lies and incredibly elaborate lies has Ben pulled off now? How many 'truths' has he told us that end up being "Oh you silly fools, don't you see? That was only a diversion, here's my real plan." But actually its more like Damon and Carlton saying "Haha you dumb mother fuckers. We got you to watch 24 episodes of a totally pointless question and story. You suck."

I was really impressed with Desmond, Hurley, and Sayid's episode. Kates sucked, but her episodes always suck. But as soon as they started this shit again, im right back in the camp where i think the writers suck ass again.

Yeah, Ben is just a cartoon character now. They just can't keep a character interesting or compelling can they? They take awesome, awesome characters and just make them into cartoon characters. Sawyer, Ben, Kate, Locke, etc.

Haha, i did love all the cold shoulders Jack was giving Kate. Was there a reason they made out right in front of the door? I swear to god if the next episode starts on Kate watching them, i'll just turn off the TV. The Sawyer/Kate/Jack triangle is already the worst thing on this TV show. And anymore soap opera stuff is it for me.

YOU'RE WELCOME!

I actually said "Here we go again.."

You and me both buddy.

"Haha you dumb mother fuckers. We got you to watch 24 episodes of a totally pointless question and story. You suck."

That is so how I feel about it. Oh my god. That sums it up. In a nutshell. Really. Oh, Ben. You're a douche, but your puppet-masters are douche-ier? LMAO.

Yeah, Ben is just a cartoon character now.

Exactly. Exactly. Thank you. Thank you! That's so what I meant by that. A cartoon character. And then after all that and him being all boy-like and I'll see you at dinner? What the fuuuuck? *dies from the contrivance*

I swear to god if the next episode starts on Kate watching them, i'll just turn off the TV.

LMAO, dude. For some reason you reminded me of the spoon lick-age, oatmeal-eating scene. WHAT WAS THAT? LMAO.

*flails*

I need BSG. Stat.

You can't depend on other people for whether to watch. If I had, I wouldn't have seen most of season three, as grumpy at my flist was about it. And you would have watched last night's, because I said I loved it. Which I do.

Can I say: I love reading people's reactions, even when they're opposite of me. I tend to candy-coat things and ignore the WTF (most times), so it's good to have the dumb shit (like the super-powerful entire-island-poisoning gas) pointed out to me.

And finally, Sawyer. Please go kill Ben and Locke and declare yourself king of Otherville (Eggtown?) and take Claire as your queen? Please?

Sounds like a plan.

Right now it seems like a hell of a plan. Hahaha.

And I guess I just... I dunno. I think there are some who'll know what I like and know what I don't and could tell me that, even if they happened to like the ep, ya know? I don't know. Grrr.

And you know what? I read your response to the ep and I was sorta shocked cause I often agree with you on fandom things. Makes me think I'm missing something vital. Haha.

Sometimes I think it comes down to our moods and tolerance level for certain bad habits of the Lost writers when we sit down and watch. Our feelings for certain characters and styles of storytelling and our expectations of things. For example, I was LIVID at "Expose" (Nikki and Paulo's backstory) because I was taking it seriously. From the start, I had tried to support the writers in slipping the newbies in. Other people, though, who had been annoyed with the whole storyline all season, who thought it was preposterous anyway, watched the ep like it was self-consciously being absurd and funny. Looking back on it that way, I guess maybe it was. But, still, I was cranky. So cranky. I'll maybe always hate the ep.

I read your response to the ep and I was sorta shocked cause I often agree with you on fandom things.

I'm a flaky mofo. And I was wearing some pretty thick Jacket goggles. I'm easily distracted by the Daniel, too. Also, I'm apparently off lately, given my mixed reaction to the Desmond ep, which people, I think, expected me to SQUEE over since I'm a Des girl. *shrugs* I dunno.

I pretty much agree with you about this one. Not impressed.

I think what's bugging me the most though is the return to character inconsistency that we're seeing in Othertown. It just bums me out that they're all acting so OC. I'd dared to hope that the writers had decided not to do that anymore, but Locke is just really unpleasant to watch, Hurley & Claire lose at life and apparently Sawyer will roll over for anyone these days. Bleh.

Could we just have Sayid and Desmond again? At least they're interesting and still IC and those two actors actually seem to know what to do with their characters.

Yes! And you know what I wouldn't say they're my favorite characters, although I've always liked them. But you're so right about them being IC and the actors doing a brilliant job. It makes it so much easier to stomach.

ITA with everything about Juliet. I sort of thought she was okay in the middle of last season; now I just really, really dislike her.

Well we do know Ben has experience in using poisonous gasses before (the 'Cleansing') and perhaps the gass just spreads from "population centers" (i.e. Otherville). They're mostly sticking in groups anyways (and there was that huge ass electromagnetic purple sky thingy that spread all over the island).

I just loved Charlotte knocking Kate out because of her nonchalant "what?" and Dan's look. Too funny.

Not a great ep, I agree. I'm sad.

I am so glad I'm not the only one. Reading all the Juliet love was starting me make me feel like I really was the only one who doesn't get her. Thank god for that.

And, Charlotte actually knocking Kate out was actually hilarious! But the explanation for it was really fucking stupid!

I feel like this ep should have been last season. It was such a backtrack for S4.

It was! But I think it makes sense; if she hadn't incapacitated Kate (who was all "y'all are sketchy, lemme see your bags") she would have never let them go to the Tempest (she probablly would have stopped them just to stop them.

*hugs*
