Hi guys! I'm back for my bi-weekly visit!
(Is it wrong to have an OT3 for Singin' in the Rain?)
First of all, I need to say that I miss writing fic like you wouldn't believe. I think I might try and do that more often. Like tell myself I'll at least write a drabble a week if nothing else. I need to keep my hand in. I feel so out of it and it makes me sad. So yeah. No less than a drabble a week until the end of the year? I think I can commit to that completely achievable goal.
Second of all, here's a brief list of stuff I NEED IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW (or maybe I just need to buckle down and write it myself, take note):

- Ruby/David (OUAT), I am preparing to dodge rotten tomatoes on this one.

I have been sick (with a cold!) these last two days which somewhat explains my extended time online. I ended up having a chance to finish marathoning season 1 of Once Upon a Time and catch up with the first three eps of season 2. I did not expect to like that show that much. I will admit that because of the nature of the show often focusing on one character's backstory during season 1 a handful of episodes did drag for me. But most of all I loved it to bits. Especially all of the powerful, female characters, despite the fact that some of them are based on helpless damsel-in-distress princesses. It's fantastic. And magical. /cheese.
Speaking of television, I still haven't been watching any sitcoms, and I did not pick up any of the new shows this season. Why? Well, I don't know. I told
slybrunette that I'm probably subconsciously rejecting new TV because I am still pissed about The Killing. God, it still hurts. A lot. Lately I keep thinking about how I'm excited for Shameless and The Newsroom to come back even though I know that won't happen until next year sometime for both shows. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I ever told you guys I marathoned The Newsroom a couple of months ago and loved it.
There are a lot of mirroring critics out there all saying kind of the same thing. But I watch a lot of television and movies and this show is no worse at writing women than at least 70% of what's out there, so I feel like a lot of the chorus is unfounded. Seems like the expectations are just so incredibly high because it's HBO and it's Aaron Sorkin at the same time. Coupled with the fact that Sorkin has said some not-so-awesome things publicly that have gotten him a lot of flack for the same issues so people are more eager to criticize his work. I also really love Sloan Sabbith played by Olivia Munn who apparently has her own critics... for being a girl, famous, and hot? (As far as I can tell!) 1) who cooks normally?: Matt. He's actually a really good cook although most people don't know it. Elena mostly sucks at it. No pun intended. But she's learned a few of his favorites so she can surprise him once in a while.
2) how often do they fight?: Hardly ever. They can read each other really well and know when to back down. Elena knows Matt wants to stay "a real boy" so their time together is limited, and also precious. She never asks him to change his mind. She knows if she were still human and had been given a choice that she wouldn't have. They understand each other.
3) what do they do when they’re away from each other?: (Pre-break-up) Talk about each other.
4) nicknames for each other?: She sometimes slips and calls him Matty which she knows reminds him of Vicky, but the truth is, he likes it. In high school sometimes he'd call her babe, because he thought it was cool. Now he just calls her Elena.
5) who is more likely to pay for dinner?: Back in high school, she was.
6) who steals the covers at night?: Elena, for some reason, even though she doesn't really get cold anymore. Force of habit.
7) what would they get each other for gifts?: They never were much for gifts, but if they're feeling up for it, They both would get each other something sentimental -- maybe something that reminds them of when they were kids together.
8) what crime would they commit together?: Matt would do anything for Elena, but most of the time he just covers for her. Trespassing, assault, murder. All in a day's work when you're a vampire in mystic falls protecting your own.
9) who made the first move?: When they were kids, Matt kissed Elena once on the playground. But the summer after freshman year, it was Elena who kissed Matt. He was too shy to admit his feelings back then.
10) who remembers things?: They both do.
11) who is the big spoon/little spoon?: Matt's the big spoon.
12) who swears more?: Definitely Matt. (Usually.)
13) what would they do if the other one was hurt?: Elena would heal him. Matt would probably put himself in harm's way to help Elena, even though she can take care of herself.
14) what are their bad couple habits? They sometimes pick on Jeremy together. Even after he turns. Once Elena's little brother, always Elena's little brother.
15) what's their morning routine?: Matt wakes up early, even without an alarm. Elena sleeps in.

THE KILLING. God I miss them and their stupid faces so much! You have no idea. I want them back. (I haven't given up complete hope, only most of my hope.)

Holder/Linden
1) who cooks normally?: Holder, obviously.
2) how often do they fight?: Pretty regularly. Mostly about work and mostly consisting of her saying Stephen and giving him a look and him backing down. Although sometimes he gets to win too.
3) what do they do when they’re away from each other?: If one of them is out of town, they call each other a lot. Again, mostly about work. And for Holder to say one sweet thing that she pretends to be annoyed by but is secretly smiling, and he knows it.
4) nicknames for each other?: They stopped calling each other by their last names after the first month they were together. Though he still sometimes calls her boss, just to annoy her. She calls him babe, which he honestly can't get enough of.
5) who is more likely to pay for dinner?: Well she does make more money than him, so...
6) who steals the covers at night?: Sarah. She also gets cold feet and sticks them between his legs which makes him crazy but he lets her do it anyway.
7) what would they get each other for gifts?: Other than smart phones? Holder would get her some new running gear, maybe a fancy gps pedometer and she'd get him a kindle or something for the kitchen ( a food processor?).
8) what crime would they commit together?: They don't commit crime. They fight crime.
9) who made the first move?: He wanted to. But waited until she kissed him first.
10) who remembers things?: He does. "Don't forget your..." or "Remember that time..." etc. Are usually all sentences that he would say, not her.
11) who is the big spoon/little spoon?: He's the big spoon.
12) who swears more?: He does.
13) what would they do if the other one was hurt?: I think we know that. She'd never stop looking for him and he'd do everything in his power to save her.
14) what are their bad couple habits? Sometimes they take their work home with them. So much so that they set up a money jar so that any time either of them talk about work after hours they have to put in a dollar. Linden puts in a lot more than him at first. But then she comes up with a game where she tries to get him to mention it first without him knowing so she doesn't have to pay up (or admit any wrong-doing.) He's totally aware she does this, and he totally lets her do it anyway.
15) what's their morning routine? Sarah gets up and goes for a run on most mornings. Holder sleeps in a little but gets up before she gets back, makes breakfast -- even if it's just toast or cereal. They ride together to the station.
