The Killing & The Newsroom

So, I loved both The Killing and The Newsroom this week. I wish I could write a proper reaction post to illustrate that but I think about them and end up incoherently muttering the words "Holder/Linden" and "Sloan Sabbith" over and over again.

So I turn it to you, faithful flisties: THOUGHTS?

the holder/linden was pretty strong with this one. holder was going to get every cop on the ground and every helicopter in the sky to find her, wasn't he. and the scene when he's sitting with her after they find her, and he kind of puts his arm around her, and then takes her home and feeds her! there was a lot to like.

on the other hand, i wanted to smack lyric, and bullet sitting in the diner while someone was watching her was kinda ominous.

The Newsroom! Sloan is so fantastic. And I so want her to hook up with Don, finally. Sigh. Not as much as I want my first OTP to hook up, but still. SIGH. This episode gave me so many feelings, yay!

It is becoming damned near impossible to resist shipping these two. I try really hard because I know they are already awesome as they are (as partners/friends) and because Linden basically never chooses the right man (I love Holder, but it's inarguable that he's another inappropriate choice), but that episode made my little heart SO hopeful. A myriad of intensity ending in an openly giving conversation over a meal brought with love. Holder is Linden's comfort. It's as though she is constantly on edge, and he is the only one who can bring relief and calm. Her tense little frame seems to instantly soften in his presence. It's as if his goal in life is to make her happy and proud of him; everything else is in service to that end.

I teared up big-time when she started referring to the night he broke down on the bridge, and the scene on the bridge/dock just about killed me. I think I held my breath until the moment she collapsed and took her first deep breath. That was one hell of a shoulder-rub he gave her. Seems in the past he's always been a little...afraid? to comfort her with touch, but that went out the window. Then he shows up with the Chinese food and the flirting and the concern and the "I really need to break this heavy silence with a joke before something happens"...

There is definitely a growing sense of proximity between these two. I mean, maybe I'm reading too much into this photo from the next ep, but like, they may as well be snuggling.

Loved The Killing this week. Thought the whole thing was aces but it just seems to be flying past and I want it to slow down! But I also am desperate to know who dunnit. And I am so glad that Ray has finally confessed that it wasn't him at all but they've only got 48hours to save him!

He called her Sarah!!! She knew he would find her (and was the only one who would get the clue!).

I think my number 1 reason why I like their relationship SO much is because it's always equally give and take, good and bad, from both sides. Like Linden can be very casual about his addiction and Holder can be a bit insensitive about stuff with Jack sometimes but it's fine because it's the two of them and they can say shitty things to each other and it's okay. And then this week we're on the opposite spectrum. When Holder mentiones how scary it was and she just deflates and opens up in return...

Also how are there only 3 episodes left? :(
