I can't even comprehend or fathom the tragedy that was the life and death of Bullet. Just, no. Not in any sense. All I gotta say is that Kallie Leeds had better fucking be alive because that's what Bullet would want.

I was deeply touched by Twitch's mourning of Bullet. They connected that night, and were friends before, and he was a huge ass wipe to both her and to Lyric and it appears that he's finally realizing that and making amends.

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON STEPHEN HOLDER AND JOEL KINNAMAN'S STUPID FACE IN THIS EPISODE YOU GUYS! This was, oh man. After last week I wasn't sure how much better this show could get. This episode was magnificent. From the beginning with Holder's typical Holder-isms, upbeat spirit, to the chase at the storage facility, to the discovery of the body, to Holder just losing it. To Dale's turn as an absolute douchebag (another to add to my list of suspects? only if there's more than one killer of course.) To Seward and Becker going head-to-head, to EVERYTHING. And holding it all together in absolute perfection was Joel. And Holder just SOBBING next to Linden. Like a little boy. You guys! The ALMOST KISS. But mostly the SOBBING. And GOD.

Dear AMC. RENEW THIS SHOW. IT IS GOLDEN.

ETA: After some reflection, I am pretty damn sure that if Linden had let Holder kiss her, it would not have ended there. Which kind of kills me dead and also makes me reflect and say I'm glad they didn't go there. Because then it would be all about Bullet. And that would just taint it. Even though I do love the whole hurt/comfort thing, as cliche as it is. Sigh. On second thought, maybe I'm not glad they didn't go there. ;)

OK I am writing a followup to this because like the obsessed lunatic I am, I have watched gifs from this scene all morning. The moment that follows the above - she goes to touch his arm, but then pats him on the leg instead. Damnit, Sarah Linden, you freaking knew there'd be no turning back if you touched that beautiful bicep. haha.

And yeah, that's pretty much how I interpreted her momentary hand placement and then "correction." No Sarah, you had it right the first time. lol.

I knew it was coming but it still hit so hard, especially knowing she was all alone at the time of her death with Kallie's still missing, Lyric rejecting her and Holder not picking up.

And then everything in the aftermath, from when Linden ran screaming to prevent Holder to find the body and then pleads with him to step away, to spare him, to the scene on the couch when he immediately pushes the cigarettes towards her - that gesture just got to me (esp. coupled with their previous bickering) since that's their currency so to speak, the almost kiss (which I'm conflicted about because I think they're both very good and very bad for each other, romantically) and Holder breaking down, god it was devastating :(

Ugh I kind of wish she died knowing that Kallie was still alive. Like somehow she got confirmation. Like Kallie called her, right before. To check in. (Aww.) That's my head canon right now and I may have to write fic. I want Bullet's last moments before the attack to be of elation, because she just talked to her friend that she thought was dead but it turns out she's not. Yes, that happened. *nods emphatically*

Ugh YES. Every moment of this episode!!! And HOLDER. God. And I hear the next episode is just as good. I cannot WAIT.

THE SOUND THAT I MADE WAS NOT HUMAN.

That entire scene on Holder's couch was a thing of beauty. Linden letting herself in because he wouldn't answer if she knocked; the push-in and pull-back of their almost kiss; Holder's complete breakdown. The cigarettes, especially after their conversation at the storage unit that morning where he talked about cutting Bullet off. I was really holding out hope that Bullet would make it after last week's cliffhanger, which is sort of naive because like Caroline said, these kids. It was harsh the way she said it, but they are on the street, facing danger every day, and it's hardly a ~surprise that they get hurt. It just still sucks. Holder lashing out at Caroline though - oh my god, the way his face just changed. The start of this season he was a whole new Holder and this whole season he's been ~backsliding (*coughbecausehecan'tpretendaroundLindenwhatcough*). This was such an emotional, rough episode but I loved it. I loved it so much. And that the show gave us confirmation that there's something going on under the surface with Linden and Holder? PRAYER WORKS. Hahaha, I mean to say. Nobody can say they're not "like that" with each other anymore and tbh I would have taken the fucked up hurt/comfort of a tainted kiss because I think it fits just fine within the context of their relationship. They're going to be tainted, no matter what.

(My dream canon would be that Linden let Holder kiss her but didn't respond much and then it breaks apart because Holder doesn't think Linden wants it and then later - like in the finale maybe? Linden kisses Holder and they just go for it. PLEASE SHOW. Something like the finale part is still possible.)

I had to swallow the sounds I would have made because I watch it with my mom and she would have thought I was a crazy person if I had verbalized whatever my brain was thinking in that moment. The rejection though, ugh. I totally wish that your canon version things had happened. But Sarah saying "It's okay. It doesn't matter." I felt like she was talking to me. (It's alright, KC. We'll make out for you later. Chill out.) Because I wanted that kiss to happen just as bad as Holder. I keep seeing all the reviewers saying that they are so glad that the show-runners addressed and dismissed the issue, which is SO NOT WHAT IT DID FOR ME, and not at all what I feel Veena was trying to do. To me, it didn't dismiss Holder/Linden, it brought it into the canon. And coupled with all of the jokes from Holder, and all the talk of Linden's past relationship history, and all the cute little innuendos between them, it's not just a single moment that will be dismissed entirely. And if it turns out to be then it's one hell of a coincidence. (And it better not be.)

I have this awful feeling that Linden is going to lose Ray Seward in this next ep. And then she's going to be as devastated as Holder. I just hope it's Holder there to catch her fall and not (ick) Skinner. Please god no. If it's Holder, I feel like we might get a repeat moment from this last ep, except this time it'll be Linden seeking comfort. (Ugh I need to write fic.)

LOL ARE THEY JOKING? Do they not recognize emotional codependence and fucking impossible attraction unless its framed as a love triangle? This entire season has been about Linden and Holder for me. The murder investigation is just sort of the driving force that's pushing them back together. As was said so eloquently earlier in this post, EMOSHUNS.

To me, it didn't dismiss Holder/Linden, it brought it into the canon.

Yeah. Now it has to be addressed at some point by one of them. If there was nothing there to acknowledge, I just feel like the writers...wouldn't have done anything. At all. Because they did something, we know there's a lot more going on under the surface.

I think Linden's going to lose Ray too. I don't even understand Linden/Skinner. Like...I just don't.

I actually had this in my head every time I read something like that in a review or a comment! Seriously? WHAT? I just.. how? They had Holder make a desperate pass at Linden to ELIMINATE her as a love interest? I... I don't follow. But yes. I saw it EVERYWHERE. Are they watching the same show? Haha.

Ray. UGH. His character just kills me. I think of those pics of him and Adrian in the file. Kills me dead.

Agreed that it didn't dismiss anything! It's the first time anything of the sort has been acknowledged beyond Holder's flirtations to Linden in the first ep of the season (the whole "that's sexy" bit about her boyfriend, and how he told her "lookin' good, Linden.").

You guys are making my imagination run wild. I can so see Linden just totally saying "oh well f*ck it, what else can go wrong in my life? may as well hit this beautiful piece of crazy I'm working with" if Seward does indeed end up hanging. I like...don't necessarily want that to be the way things go, but I also would be standing, cheering, and doing cartwheels in front of the television. Then I'd rewind it and watch it again.

So...on a related note...how do we all feel about spoilers around here? I have seen a few hints lately that may tell which direction this H/L development goes...

Also yeah, that's how I see it happening too. Especially if she loses Ray. But possibly before the fallout of discovering whoever the real killer is.
