Meme! Anyone who feels like it should post their ten most CRUCIAL CRUCIAL CRUCIAL-ASS movies, like the movies that explain everything about yourselves in your current incarnations (not necessarily your ten favorite movies but the ten movies that you, as a person existing currently, feel would help people get to know you.)

(This was way harder than I thought it would be to come up with off the top of my head... and really just ended up picking movies that were formative in my life and/or all-time favorites.)

You know, you're right. There are movies I truly love and movies that meant a lot to me at the time, but then there are "all time" favorites. All of these fit there, because I honestly have no idea which movies I like actually reflect on my personality so I ended up just defaulting to either formative films or favorites, which combined probably says at least something about me.

Yes on music! I actually was thinking that as I was typing these out. Lots of music themes here, though not necessarily musicals per se, aside from Singin' in the Rain. (Although those are good too.)

Do I value Stylish-ness...? I mean, yes? But in movies: Absolutely. However, if a movie has great dialogue, it can just be two people in black and white sitting in a car that goes nowhere.

The 4-in-one definitely represent my childhood but so does Footloose! I can't think of a VHS I wore out more than that one. I was like 3 when that movie came out so I personally didn't get to it until far later than that, but man I loved (and still love) the crap out of that movie.

Then maybe I'd say Empire Records, Scream, and Almost Famous all played a major role in one or more time period of my adolescence. I almost put Romeo + Juliet down too, which goes with adolescence but also stylish-ness.

With V for Vendetta, that one's hard to say. I'd say it goes with stylish-ness for sure. But honestly I just think that movie reflects a lot of my own personal political values (not necessarily the vengeance part though), especially the speech he gives about how the people can't sit idly by while the government commits atrocities before their very eyes while they do nothing at all. I think, the power of free speech and being able to say out loud when something is wrong, etc, resonates there. So that movie just represents the idealistic part of me I guess.
