No spoilers for tonight. It's just disappointing how choreographer choice and style assignment can effect how well someone does in the competition. Also disappointing is the camera work in group numbers (more last week, but a little this week too) tends to focus on the producers favorites. Just a little bitter.

i haven't seen this weeks ep yet, but omg, i have to agree with you re the camera work. every year I think surely they'll get better at it, but no... i swear, i must say at least 2-4 times an ep, YOU HAVE ONE JOB CAMERA PERSON, ONE JOB! lol.

I know that Ricky is a favorite. Has been since day one it seems. I know he's a good dancer but something about him rubs me the wrong way so he's not a favorite of mine. The emphasis on him in last week's group number was enough to make me crazy. Especially because since he's already a favorite, he doesn't NEED more screen time! Enough already.

I just needed Serge to be in the top 10. That's all. I'm so disappointed and TBH have been ready for Casey to go home after performance episode 1. I'm pretty livid that he made top 10 and Serge didn't.

I kind of hated Serge. I'm upset about Teddy and Emily. Aaaand I still haven't seen it.

I really liked Teddy from the start but then I realized that in week one and two he was in his own style which is why I was so impressed by him out of the gate. But Serge really won me over.

Random Teddy observation: I feel like they put a LOT of make-up on Teddy on performance nights (or maybe he's just that pale under the lights?)

Completely agree with you. It felt like the best choreography was given to the couple that the judges wanted to stay. And definitely agree on the camerawork.

Don't want to spoil. But I'm definitely sad for one of the boys who went home. :(

Yes. And it often seems that way. I feel like ANY couple in the group would have gotten a standing-o for that Travis Wall routine. It's just so unfair. And ANYONE who gets ballroom is going to be judged more harshly than anyone else. That's just the way it goes. Even if they get GLOWING reviews by the judges, they still nit-pick, and in general it just doesn't go over as well with the public vote. The second I saw that Casey and Jessica got Travis, I KNEW they were going to be in the top 10. After the judges reviews, it was clear that they had already made their decision. While I still held out hope because I'm a glutton for punishment, I knew when Serge and Carly were assigned a quick step that they were goners. I find it telling that so often they've gone with "America's Vote" and they always tell us when that happens, but obviously they went against America's vote this time. I am beyond irritated.

And because I work on Wednesday nights, I don't really get the opportunity to see the episode until days later so I can't vote.

ETA: I know that everyone loves Ricky. But he's not a favorite of mine and that's ok. I just wanted Serge in the top 10. So so tired of the camera focusing on Ricky all the time. WE GET IT. (Well, I get it at least.) I'm just glad that they'll be dancing with All-stars now and I can "root" for Valerie separate from him.

I'm from Canada so I don't get to vote at all. But I have a friend in Vegas and she comes online to watch it with me so we pick apart the routines. She also voted similar to my picks so I feel like I contribute lol. I knew quickstep was going to kill them even if Serge's style is ballroom.

I was just happy to see Jean-Marc. He's my favourite ballroom choreographer. And I loved both routines even if the Judges decided no on the quickstep.
