No kidding. Damien Rice is a genius in the musical industry but he one tough cookie to vid. I was thinking about doing a Jack/Juliet vid to "Grey Room" but it's just too intimatating! The song fits the underwater hatch thingy perfectly but it's so slow and beat-less and... Would you have any pointers for me... if I do ever decide to try my hand at it?

I was attempting to explain to my friend (who's only casually watched the show) that SPN not only has slash but it has *ahem* "special" slash. Her conclusion:
"Your fandom needs some kick-butt women added to the show as regulars...and fast!" Lol! ;) Seriously, though, there's really not a terrible amount of het shipping opportunity here, is there? (Although, I have to admit I kinda like evil!Sam/Jo but it's still on the wrongdirtybad side... O_O ;) ) What women do we have still alive and kickin'? Jo, Ellen, Cassie (Dean's girlfriend from Season 1 whom he had to, of course, leave behind), :P Sarah (girl Sam kissed also in Season 1) and...? Anybody else still alive? We've only seen Jo and Ellen for more than one ep, anyway, so they're the only ones who even come close to "regulars," I suppose... :S Anyway, I totally ship Dean/B.Y.O.M.S., Sam/B.Y.O.M.S. and John/B.Y.O.M.S. myself...
*Bring Your Own Mary Sue. ;) I just make somebody up for 'em... ;) At least I spare the world my actually writing these horrible Mary Sue fanfics! LOL!

I think she can hold her own with the boys, which is tough to be sure. And she's a hunter (wannabe anyway) so she kind of bypasses the "we're always on the road so we can't have relationships" clause. She's got her own personal history that is similar to the boys, and it's sort of wrapped up with the Winchesters, both lost their fathers, both are risk takers. It's a good match IMO.
And Evil!Sam/Jo was definitely hot. haha.
But yeah, there's definitely a lack of ladies on this show.

So I feel kinda awkward being like "erm, I ship spuffy and p/j" lol. I can see the parallels to b/a and d/j but at the same time those couples happened first (a la skate) and look what happened :P.

Date: 2007-02-19 05:29 am (UTC)I think in terms of characters, Pacey and Jack are far more alike than Sawyer and Pacey. I mean, Pacey was a bit of a putz at times (an adorable one) but they are both very heroic in an accidental kind of way. (And both have similar Daddy issues! Both are drunks who wanted their kid to be something they weren't. Hehe.)
I think Pacey was seen as the 'badboy' only because he liked to goof off & didn't take things too seriously (or seriously enough, depending on how you look at it.) He never was actually a badboy. When it comes down to it I find him to be one of the most "moral" and "upright" characters in Dawson's Creek. He followed his heart but at the same time wasn't afraid to speak his mind. He was selfless and certainly the "hero."
Whereas on the flipside, Dawson was the epitome of selfish time and time again.
So for me P/Jo and Jack/Kate are incredibly similar - though I've heard the argument the other way around several times - which boggles my mind.
It's amazing to me that I can still have conversations like this about DC. Hehe.
